What do you guys consider romantic? What can a girl do for you to prove that she really cares? Roses, letters, hugs, kisses, what would make your day? Please don't give me stupid answers like sex.

Hello,

I think most us guys don't really think of romance the way women do. Smoothering him with attention might or might not work. It just depends on the guy because many guys like their personal space. I think men generally want someone who will be fun every once in a while, open to exploring new things in the bedroom, or just cool with hanging out watching a sports game or seeing an action movie (just don't talk a lot during these events... pleeeeeeeeeasssss, no talking!!! :P )

Here is one clue you should always remember... I will know that I truely found the right woman when she takes me to a strip club and pays for a lap dance simply because she is clever enough to know that I will be leaving the club and going home with her with all my unused, pint up sexual energy. Be confident, be secure and use your head (that sounds a little dirty, huh :P ). If you know that you can trust him, then let him have some fun and make sure he includes you in it every now and then.

I know you don't want to hear about sex but what do you expect from us??? We're guys and it's our mission to reproduce. It's written in the DNA as our primary biological imperative (I've seen it on an educational channel). If you're against the strip club idea, go to a sex shop or victoria's secret, buy some teddies, some oils, and a good instructional book or video on love making / the kuma sutra or the tantric arts. Wait for him at home with the lights out and candles lit. Don't say a word when he walks in the door and lead him to your bedroom with music playing. Sit him on the bed and slowly undress. If he tries to speak at any time during this, just say shhhhhhhhh and press you finger against his lips. Slowly get undressed and you can even do a sensual, slow, swaying dance. Let him be the spectator at your show. Then either lay him back on the bed or let him take control over you. Whatever you think he would prefer. Be spontaneaous and adventurous ever once in a while. Talk to him / listen and find out what else he would like and surprise him. Make a custom plan to suit his likes, desires, and needs.

Be careful not to be too solicitous to him because he might take it for granted. Don't make it you job to baby him. You don't want to be his mother, you want to be his girlfriend, companion, or maybe even more eventually.

Well, I think if you take all my suggestions and combine them with suggestions from others here, you will have a multi faceted, multi prong plan of action that will knock him out of his socks. Just make a plan that works for you or just through your thoughts out the window and take action.

I hope this helps... take care

Having a little trouble parsing the run-on sentence ("no childish things and comedy" = "no childish things and NO comedy"?). Anyway, a couple recommendations: Ai Yori Aoshi - Sweet romance, though a bit of a harem aspect. The manga gets further in the story than the anime, though. (Check out a few episodes. If you like it, consider Ah My Goddess as well.) Maison Ikkoku - Romantic comedy, but pretty serious in terms of the relationship. Both the manga and anime take the relationship fairly far. A solid romance story by the author of Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2, but it's kind of old and hard to find these days. If you want something with real "struggles" (and somewhat depressing), consider Rumbling Hearts. Or maybe Clannad or Toradora. (I'd consider all three "drama" more than "romance," though.) Then there are the frustrated-high-schooler type, which tend not to go very far in terms of relationship progress. Boys Be is an example, and I'd also consider Suzuka in that realm. Shonen romances tend to have more action or comedy, I guess the thought is that guys won't generally sit for straight romance. There are tons of "harem" romance (lots of girls chasing one guy, even if there's an obvious favorite), like Love Hina. Several where action almost overshadows the romance (Inuyasha). And a zillion with "fanservice" to sell them (Girls Bravo, UFO Princess Valkyrie, etc.)... but I assume you're not interested in any of those things.

OK, I'm a bit older than you (by a long shot) and yes there is such a thing but all too many guys have to grow up a little or a lot in order to realize it. Roses are nice but unless he wants to brag it might not be too fitting to give them to him in public. They tend to embarrass guys or at least the embarrassed me when I got them. Letters are a great idea and the hugs and kisses go without saying. Just keeping the thoughts going in his head will keep him in love with you but talk to him one to one and re-enforce your love on an almost periodic basis. Try new things together but the one thing that would make my day is having someone like you beside me.

Be so very happy!

Even though sex is a big hit with guys it can't be classified as romantic. What leads up to it can be romantic.

Romance is a very large subject. The only real limitation is that of the persons imagination. The common attempts at romance are candle lit dinners, soft music, flowers. For me these things are far to typical for me to even consider.

Since men are natorious for getting lost a good way to have fun and be romantic is to leave him littler notes that send him on a small hunt. If you have it that he is finding clothing could definately get his mind thinking that he's going to get laid. However it need not be that obvious.

Just be creative!
