Singles & Dating - 11 January 2007

My ex boyfriend is in the air force and we just recently broke up before he went back. He wants to be friends so we can get back to the way we were before we got together. He says that before we were together we were the best of friends. I told him Im going to only be his friend for so long. I really want to be with him but all the arguing when we are in a relationship is really getting tired. But he is right we are the best of friends when we dont argue. We can talk about anything. Its just I dont want us to grow away from each other during this friendship. I think its just the title of saying that im his girlfriend and he is my boyfriend is a level of commitment that we wont reach. As of now I dont know what to do.

i am 18, and pretty attractive, and i work at a store where i see a whole bunch of different people daily. Lately i have noticed that guys with girlfriends clinging off of their arms have been staring and smiling at me. When the guys girlfriend sees me, she will instantly latch arms, or kiss him, or show me this is my guy back off. completely understandable. But when the girl looks the other, way the guy stares at me and smiles. Guys why do you do this. You obviously have a girl friend that cares about you, why blow it by staring and smiling at another girl? why do you stare if you have a Girfriend anyways?

a year ago my bf left a comment on his exs journal site. if i remember correctly she wrote about how she wasn't good at dirty talking or something stupid like that. and my bf left a comment saying something like "oh come on you know you are ;) " he said he was just joking. who jokes like that? ok so then this summer him and i went on a break..during which time he got back with her. so do you think that he's loved her this whole time? (shes the one that broke up with him) during our whole relationship i felt like he was still in love with her.. oh but they broke up after a week this time. (and he broke up with her this time supposedly) i really love him but now it feels like i was right the whole time.

I started dating this guy he seemed a little more feminine than normal, he laughs like a girl, he talks like a teenage girl, he crosses his legs like a girl, and I recently went over his house and He has pastel pink and baby blue sheets with the matching comforter. so this girl calls me early this morning... actually txts me n tells me 2 call her whn i get up... i call her and we talk and flirt and w/e ... and she keeps hinting that shes not doing anything 2nite.. n so i ask her if she wants to hangout... she agrees and tells me to call her whenevr i find out what we're doing... so i have a great nite planned out and i give her the call ... no answer so i give it another hr. and call her again ... still no answer.. so i txt her n let her no wutsup and she txts me half n hr later ... telling me that shes staying in 2nite... i dont kno if i should call her again... cuz this has happnd for the 2nd time already and im jus gettin sick of all this flaking out mess.. wut do u think i shuold do or should i take it as a hint that shes proly not interested??

i have been talking for this guy for the past 4 months, and he has not ask me out yet. I lost my virginity to him as well. Hi, I am with my first girlfriend, and I don't want to rush or pressure her into anything, even if it's small. How long should i wait before trying to kiss her? When is too soon?. I am 16 years old, we both(well i hope she does, I do) take the relationships much more seriously and maturely then the average "highschool" relationships. OK so me and my boy hang out in the group and there is this chick in there that has only been my friends for 6months and my boy the same amount of time but I am better friend as we go out for coffee( u know) The other night she asked my boyfirned for his number (she has a boyfriend) and he gave it to her. She has been msging him, and Its not that I don't trust my boy or anything, I just think it is inapropriate so I told my boyfriend I didn't want him msging her, and he totaly flipped.

We've dated seriously for 1.5 years now, just FYI. We exchanged our email passwords earlier in the relationship, just in an act of complete trust. My girl friends have been telling me some of their secrets in their emails to me, so I changed mine and he obviously can no longer check mine and probably never did either. I am a very curious person however and occasionally checks his just to see what's going on with him or who's emailing him. I'm not afraid of any woman figure or anything, there's just an itch to do it and satisfy my curiosity because I have the password to do so. And yes, I confess that I do read some of the emails that he has already read. I certainly don't open any of the unread new ones, because that would give me away. Is what I'm doing wrong?

My boyfriend Nick has been acting different lately, everytime that I come home late or I forget to call him, he snaps on me, this Isn't the way that he used to be. the other day we both got Into an arguement about me hanging out with his mother, he got the feeling I was telling her stuff about him, which I honestly wasn't. then when I got home, he asked where was I with a mean attitude, so I told him then he pushed me against the counter. he has grabbed me before too, he's grabbed me many times, especially when I am hanging out with his friends. he has never hit me before though, I am scared that Is what he Is going to do next, the next time that we argue. what should I do? please help me!

I've been dating my girlfriend for about 8 months now. Everything seems to be going well with the occasional ups and downs. Sometimes, she'll do something that really annoys/pisses me off.

I'll propose that we get together to hang out. Sometimes, I feel like she wants to tell me she doesn't feel like it. That wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that she tells me "She'll let me know." Then she doesn't. Honestly, this is the only problem we have in the entire world. It seems like such a stupid issue, but it happened tonight and I really feel pissed off. I don't think she sees anything wrong with this. Its such a rare occasion that I'm not sure how to react to it.

I don't want to be mean, but she needs to know how much this bugs me.

How do I bring this up with her without coming off as a huge jerk? Shouldn't she call me about her plans if she says shes going to?

It isn't that I don't want to be in a relationship, but I'm not really willing to lay down the time and money required to pursue a girl. Odds are I will remain single, until the right person drops in my lap or I convince friends to set me up with someone.

Honestly, I go to bars where I know I can avoid meeting eligable women to avoid getting involved. I'm kind of guilty about the whole thing, because it is feeling about like time to jump back into the dating game. That said, I'm relatively happy with work and my social circle, so dating isn't that urgent.

Any suggestions on dealing with the "guilt" of being single?
