Singles & Dating - 7 January 2007

I liked this girl, we were good friends, but I never pursued to ask her out or tell her how I felt because I knew she was in a relationship with this guy for quite sometime and I respected that. So anywho she dumps him and goes for his best friend, nobody really knew this, not even me, or her ex. So I thought she was single, she even hung around me an awful lot, almost every Saturday Night she would come over to my house, just the two of us. I thought for sure she was single and that she really liked me as well.

So I tells her I like her, I assumed she was still single, then she tells me that she is seeing someone else, and that she liked me as well and she wished I had said somethin during a time when she was with her ex boyfriend.

Why would she expect me to tell her I like her when she knows well enough that I'm aware she's in a relationship with someone. I never felt so mislead in my life, I felt so depressed afterwards, it took me months to get over it.

I am 22 and from france, I have met a wonderful girlfriend who is american. I like her a lot, but my friends and family are furious that I am going out with a "culturally shallow, unophisticated american" is how they put it.

When ever she mets my friends and girlfriends "girls that are my friends" they dont speak in english to her and they make fun if her culture.

I really like her but she hates me...what should I do!?
There's a girl in my class who I really like. We used to like each other for a while even though we didn’t talk that much. Anyway, it now seems like she really hates me for no reason and I think that she knows that I still like her. When I start talking to her she tries to ignore me... well I don't know what going on cause she asked me last week whether I hate her. Should I just talk to her and ask her whether she doesn't like me tell her that I feel like she ignores me or is it a bad idea?!

assume: 1) you are stubborn 2) the guy has not badgered you but said he is sorry and has shown some kind gestures 3) you have not seen him in that period but he still lives in the same town 4) nothing bad caused it, just a lot of stress in eachother's lives 5) you really loved the guy for the 2 years you knew him and he knows it and (now) really appreciates it. Note: since the person is stubborn (usually in a good way), I am not expecting an apology or formal intiation of talks on her part...that's why I am asking before I attempt anything. the last thing I assume she wants is my sappiness.. I am getting a few signs here and there like a forwarded email, or a quick call about something of mutual interest (leaves a message), but don't know how to read it. Previously there was silence. we are in our 30s believe it or not. Thanks.

There is one guy who I fancy. Recently we were sitting in a cafe with some of our friends and I accidentally called him - my darling! (Really it was used a bit ironically), but there suddenly was a silence, then his eyes sparkled and he grinned at me. I pretended not to notice that, so we moved on from that subjest. Today he winked at me (he does it quite often now). I haven't seen him wink at someone else, though i can say he is a flirter! So one of my guy friends came over my place for dinner (he was cheering me up b/c of my recent breakup) and we were having a nice dinner and then afterwards he did the dishes for me, etc. Well we started like playing around, wrestlng, etc...and he starts twisting my boobs. I told him it was hurting me and to stop and he started laughing and kept doing it. I told him to stop or else and he kept twisting them. I said OK LAST CHANCE and finally he stoppe doing it, but at this point I was kinda mad. So I grabbed his shoulders with both hands and kneed him in his nuts two times, one with each knee. He immediately grabbed his balls in pain and bent over and fell to the ground. I'm like "Well that's what you get sweetie...remember when a girl says no she means no." So he started laughing and grabbed my knees, pulling me to the ground so I kicked him in his nuts with my foot just once though. He fell back and said OK enough enough. So I spared him lol.

Me and one of my friends had a kiss and a cuddle the other week. I really like him. Anyway, after the kiss etc, he text saying we should just carry on being friends. I text him back the next day saying that I'm sure he already knows I like him and how he feels is up to him but if he just wants to stay friends, that is fine with me. I got no response. About two weeks later I text asking how he was etc and he replied and seemed fine-even put 3 kisses at the end of the text. Now all of a sudden he's not replied to any texts I have sent!?! He just doesn't seem to be the same since I told him how I felt. I would try and talk to him but if he's not replying to any texts, I can't! I just don't know whats up with him?

I don't know what to think. He says my number "flew" out his window when he put the visor down. He has an antiquated cell phone so, what, he didn't save the number? There is this guy that works at the same country club I work at. He often comes into the cafe and I am usually his waitress but I also know him outside of work. About a month ago we really got to know each other at a Christmas party but since then he has acted slightly awkward towards me. I am normally very outgoing and outspoken but I find myself nervous and fumbling with my words whenever he is around. I have a very strong feeling that he likes my best friend (who also works with me) but she has no interest in him at all....which is insane to me....he is amazing. Does anyone have ideas of how I can get him to notice me.
