Was he your first partner? If so, your vagina's not used to having company, and it's going to stretch. If your hymen wasn't broken before intercourse (it's a thin membrane across your vagina on the inside...it's pretty easily broken with non-sex activities like sports) it can cause pain and a little blood when that is broken. If it isn't your first time, he may just be larger than you are used to. Maybe the sex was more vigorous than you were used to, and that can make your vagina sore. You also mentioned that you tried very hard to get things started. If you were nervous, you might not have as much natural lubrication as if you were fully relaxed and comfortable with the experience. A little K-Y lubricant can go a looooong way in making the experience more pleasurable for a woman.
As far as the nausea, that could just be from him laying on top of you and pressing directly on your stomach, especially if you ate not long before you had intercourse. If you gave him oral sex as foreplay and swallowed his semen, that could also give you an upset stomach, especially if you've got an empty stomach :)
For the sleepiness, that's normal...you just expended a lot of energy ;)
Hope this helps!
*Note...I'm not a doctor, this is just from personal experience.

It's normal to be sore after the first time. Those muscles aren't used to that much activity.
If you continue having intercourse, and it continues to hurt, he may be doing it too vigorously. Ask him to slow down and try to be more gentle. Use protection every single time.
Sex does make a lot of people sleepy afterwards; that's nothing to worry about.

Maybe you ripped the hymen, which is like a sort of membrane closure at the opening...If you haven't had sex before, the hymen is there, but is normal to be opened...I read that somewhere, but you may want to see a doctor.

As long as nothing major is happening it's perfectly normal. The fact that you enjoyed it makes this feeling even more normal. again, if there is no chronic pain then your fine.

It gets better each time. This is new to you so it will take some time getting used to the abuse.
