I'm confused on what to get my guy for Christmas. He's very religious, so I was thinking maybe a t-shirt like the kind he wears all the time that have puns on popular culture but with christ or bible verses, but a friend is getting him that and I hate to mimic. I thought about a cross, but he wears one all the time and it might be insulting.

By 'sort of dating' I mean, we have a date set for a big Military Ball in January, but have decided not to go steady yet. How does one go about choosing something for a relationship that's less than simple?

Date for over 6 months. We "love" each other. I'm willing to work with her but she says she may need to go to a mental hospital for 6 months + to work through this deep problem that no one but her current therapist knows of. She claims he talks about ME all the time.
She said she's in love with him, but I know she's alone in this feeling.
She asked if I had he phone number. She doesn't. I said I had it but I deleted it. I made it sound like I could care less.
She started talking about whether I thought he was handsome and what I thought of his body. Technically, I like guys over 6 ft and 200 lbs and he's 5 ft 8 in and 145...but he's so terrific that I don't let that detail hold me up.
I was sooo sweet. I even asked if she wanted me to page him to the front of the store so she could say goodbye before she left. When I did, he called my extention and said "Hey Babe, Whatcha want?" He didn't call her BABE.



So do I have her "running scared"? Have you ever had anything like this happen to you? What was the outcome? Which girl gets the guy in the long run?

So there's this guy in one of my classes at school who's about 4 years older than me. Am I wrong to slap him? When we get into arguments he would verbally abuse me. Say things to make me feel low about everything. Then after awhile he started hitting himself. There were times when I could control it but it gotten to a point that nothing I do helped him or I. We were arguing so bad over somethign so small that I just couldn't take it anymore. He was saying things that didn't make sense. He was making me feel guilty, accusing me or doing something. But how can I when we are always together. He would get mad because I miss a call from him. When I call back I tell him what happened. But he never believed me... is that something to get mad about?

I'm okay, but I'm not beautiful. If you saw me on the street you would probably look right thru me, most people do. I have alot to offer inside and have shown it many times. I'm a great person; however, I have never really been loved by a man, so why do I keep hurting myself thinking I ever will? Please no 'stop looking/trying and love will come to you when you least expect it' please. Some years I try, some I don't so that is just a meaningless saying at this point. I'm 40, so I have years of experience with love not finding me - trying or not.
