I'm confused on what to get my guy for Christmas. He's very religious, so I was thinking maybe a t-shirt like the kind he wears all the time that have puns on popular culture but with christ or bible verses, but a friend is getting him that and I hate to mimic. I thought about a cross, but he wears one all the time and it might be insulting.

By 'sort of dating' I mean, we have a date set for a big Military Ball in January, but have decided not to go steady yet. How does one go about choosing something for a relationship that's less than simple?

Simple is actually where it is at in this situation. Sometimes a very pleasant date and a special thank you for his company is enough. Too many women today are overboard with gifts too big too soon. If it is kept simple and tasteful, he will be pleased by the intent and not feel obligated to reciprocate in the case that he did not have that intention.

From my own experience on giving and getting gifts, i think the best gift you can get him for christmas is something simple and straight forward. Try thinking of something he needs to use everyday and would make everyday a little easier for him.

How about, if he is seriously religious, and by saying that I mean to say that I am understanding in a non-offensive way that you don't take yours as seriousl--a nice gold plated book marker that COULD be used for bible usage, however could be used for anything study or reading wise engrave with something sweet....like....."No One Writes Words so sweet as you"....

Just an idea....

Just try and pick up some hints on something that he likes and is thinking about buying for himself. Maybe you should invite him to the mall and just pay attention to the things that he looks at and that may give you an idea on what to get for him.
