Singles & Dating - 5 September 2006

OK..I just asked a question concerning my 15 yr old son, and how he likes a girl at our Church...I was seeking advice on how to encourage him, and it seems that most of the answers are ASSuming that I am some kind of medling Mom..And I am not! Please fully read a question before you assume.....It is insulting

I really was in love with this guy...we went out for a long time, but there were certain misunderstandings that somehow never got resolved. It was long-distance, 14 yrs of age difference, but we were a great match. We had things in common I never thought I'd find anybody with. I broke up with him when my life was in shambles, and started dating someone more there for me, literally. I soon realized my mistake, but as I was breaking up with the other guy, my love started seeing someone else, asking me first if he should. I was tired of him always asking me for advice; I told him to make his own decisions; he decided to date other people. I was crushed. He never explained why he chose this. Now, I cannot talk without him hanging up on me. Sometimes we seem to get somewhere in a discussion, but someone always shuts down. This happened over the phone and I think, because of the phone. We deserved to see each other face to face, but he just won't make this happen. I feel no closure. Ideas?

i look through my girlfriends myspace.
in her messages..
she is talking to this other guy like they are together.
I LOVE YOU...BABE..
just stupid/hurtful things back and forth for like 2 days..
i confront her and she freaks out...first said they were jokes..then admits they were just flirting whatever..
i decided to stay with her after she deleted her myspace...
everything has been fine since then..
but thinking about what she did still hurts alot and i don't know if i still want to be with her..they were just words..but it hurt.
(they were planning on hanging out and stuff)
so ...would you stay with someone after that or is that a sign that they will end up doing something like that again..?

Are they simply just trying to attract attention from men? If so, what are they looking for exactly? Personally, being a gentleman I find a filthy mouth in public a very unattractive quality in a lady, now behind closed doors.... well that's another matter! Or am I being old fashioned?

My boyfriend and I have been going out for over a year now. Recently we got in a fight because I always feel as though I am putting all the effort into the relationship. He just sits on his computer all day.When I suggest doing something else, he states he doesn't want to do anything else and his computer games are giving him something to do. He told me i shouldn't put so much efort into the relationship because he loves me and that's all that matters. He also said he shouldn't have to reassure me of the love he feels for me. I also find lots of porn on the computer, and when I confronted him about it, he said "I have to get it out of me somehow when you're not around." I understand this concept of guys and porn, but this is getting old. Help!!

I have known that i was bi since i was about 14 (im 19 now) but no1 knows and the past few months i have been really turned on by my friend, we share our sex stories everynow and then on the phone n when we do i find myself getting so horny imagining her doing things. When i see her i get so hot and i want to do stuff to her, a few weeks ago i was really horny and i was fantasizing and the only thing that got me off was thinking of her. I dont think she is bi but i have heard her talk about girls n say they are hot but thats it. She may be interested in trying it once but how do i find out without looking like im attracted to her so she wont be freaked out. Why do I find that people answer things like pervs or they answer with two words. I think this system is great but people out thier make it crap. So if you are going to answer two words or answer in a nasty way, stop. Do you not see that most of the people asking sex questions are under 18 and most people asnwering them are over 18. Come on NOW.

My son is 15. The girl he likes is 17. It is obvious that she likes him also. She is our Pastor's daughter, and my son feels intimadated by that fact, and also by the fact that she is very pretty, (he is a very nice looking young man too) she is not allowed to date, neither is he (they both have been raised Christian) He says he does not want to feel vunerable, or invest his emotions just to find out that she was just being kind and polite, and that she may not really like him. I have told him to be confident, in charge (without being a chauvenist) and told him to try and find a creative way to let her know that he is interested in spending time with her to see if they might possibly have a future together. What do you think ?
