Singles & Dating - 4 September 2006

I went on a great date with this guy. I was so smitten by the end of date and he seemed to really enjoy it too. However, I haven't gotten any phone calls from him. It's been almost a week! I have tried calling him, but it seems like he didn't pay his cell phone bill or used up all his minutes because the answer i get back is "this phone does not accept incoming calls." I tried to call from a payphone to make sure he wasn't just blocking me, but I got the same answer. What do I do? I need an answer why he hasn't called me or tried to call me. I need closure to this relationship if he really doesn't like me. I know where he lives so should I just stop by?

I know this girl who I have a lot of respect for and like very much. She is younger than me, and still in college. She has a boyfriend, although I have known her longer. I have made it known that I like her. We haven't really talked that much since I told her this, just emails about plain stuff. She is really insecure about relationships, and fears a break up with her boyfriend. She has even expressed to me that she hopes that this relationship is the last time. This disturbs me on a level I have yet to be disturbed on. I will never understand how a person who is 21 would even consider this with there whole life ahead of them. I have always thought that I would give her an alternative to this premature commitment, so I have remained her friend regardless. I am not the type to sit back and be aquaintenced though, and I am considering confronting her about what she hopes for the future. I would rather lose her outright, than sit back and watch this happen. What should I do.

We've known each other for 12 years. Off and on friends. Started back dating 2yrs ago. He talked about marriage before now confused about us. we have had several discussions about this. When I told him that I needed to see him he wanted to know why? I told him I just wanted to see him, his response was that we could see each other the next day, afterwards he suggested to post pone it a day later. I felt like he wanted to spend as less time with me as possible. So, I wrote a cordial note and left voice mail saying that I decided to not come, without explaining why. (because I was ticked off)

This visit was an effort to either try one last time to work things out or say an official goodbye because we have known each other for so long. He wasn't aware of my purpose of coming.

I've been dating a really awesome girl for a little less than 2 weeks and things have been great. I want to get her some flowers for her apartment, but I admittedly don't know squat about flowers other than roses. Red roses might be a little much considering the short length of time we've known each other, although I know we're both into each other pretty seriously. What else can I get that isn't hideous and would spruce up her apartment as well?
She has a cat if that matters at all.

My ex left me and has basically asked for space and time to find herself. She became bored of the relationship i guess and has little left to offer. However, she still messages me to see how i am, wnats to be friends with me and generally at least makes me feel she still cares. Thats not saying she wants to get back with me but there is a caring love still there. The problem is i want her back bad. Do you guys reckon that ignoring her a bit and showing her i am moving on with my life and in a sense not looking back it may help her realise i am a great guy for her or do you think she will kind of be happy im out of her life?

I have been with my girlfriend about 3 months she really is amazing, about my age but mentaly much more mature we can talk about anything and everything and have alot of fun togther just spontaniously flying somewhere for no other reason than it was cheap and no idea where we are going =P But from the letters she writes me I think she is really falling for me, I'm quite flattered as her ex was a rich London architect and as a 17 year old school boy I didnt think I could compete, I've seen the letters she wrote to him and there is not nearly as much feeling as she's showing me. Don't get me wrong I care for her alot and I want to stay with her but she obviously likes me more than I like her, and when she says these things I simpy can't return the sentiments without being dishonest, which I could never do with her, and I just feel a developing awkwardness as a result. What can I do?

Just wondering whether people think even reasonably non-materialistic girls are impressed if a guy has a nice car? Do you think it has an effect at a concious or sub-concious level?

While I have been in past relationships before, this was the one that felt real. I had never loved someone before my boyfriend and he was the only one I could actually imagine a future with. Now that it is over and I realize the kind of guy he is, I'm scared that he never actually loved me. Even though I knew it wasn't working, I still loved him and would never have treated him the way that he has treated me. Now I'm scared to ever trust anyone again. Everyone keeps telling me its just him but .... I'm never want to feel the way I am feeling now again. I feel like my life is completely different now and what I thought I knew was completely wrong. I know that you are supposed to "love like you have never been hurt" but this heart is taking over my life.

my bf just got into a fight and he got taken away in an ambulance and i dont know what the **** to do cuz i told him to just ingnor it and he was like no. like 10 people jumped him as soon as he got out of the truck!!! a few of his friends helped him but i really love him but yet i dont want to go out with someone who fights and **** like that. he is probley going to jail now cuz if he got into 1 more fight then he would be put in jail!!! im so ******* confused on what to do!!!
