I don't know whether I should continue going and pretend like it didn't bother me or if I should I avoid going when he's there. It's frustating because he did get my number and asked me what movie I wanted to see.

No, it just didn't work out for a lot of reasons you may not even be aware. Just continue as you would if he was any other person that you know. Maybe, one day he will ask you out. You have planted the seed. Good luck!

If you want to rent a movie and this is the video store where you have been going all along, then go. Try not to think about it to much. If he is there when you go and approaches you to talk, respond if you feel comfortable. If he doesn't approach you but you must make contact(because he is the clerk) then just treat him like any other clerk. Be polite and write your check or pay cash whatever. Maybe he will initiate more.

Totally ignore him!!! Act like he doesn't exist and eventually he will get back to you. When he does tell him you're busy and move on to somebody worthwhile. You don't need an idiot like that. There are plenty of nice guys like me that would take you to a movie and treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

Sounds like he changed his mind. That doesn't mean you should stop going to the video store if that was a place you went regularly. Don't go out of your way to avoid him, and don't go out of your way to be near him. In other words, move on to bigger and better things.

Just let him be. If he doesn't like you in that way, there's nothing you can do to force him to. Just be polite to him when you go to the store next time and every time after that and perhaps he'll change his attitiude toward you.
