Singles & Dating - 28 August 2006

It's not that I'm unhappy with it, I just want to mix things up. I've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and he's the type that is content with just having it, which i don't understand. But he says there isnt anything that he wants me to do, that he is happy with what we do. I just can't imagine there isnt just one thing that he just wish he had, something that might drive him nuts. Anyone have any ideas?

It seems many who call themselves Christians today are some of the same people who embrace a lifestyle of banging random girls while single, and "commiting" themselves to one partner, only when in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Marriage is not about sex anymore, it seems to have been reduced to a meaningless instituion.
The culture decided that sex is natural and therefore good, so it seems that in the name of this, it has been trivialised. How did that happen, and why do so many would be Christians feel that they know better than the wisdom of the ages much less what has been taught as the will of their God for 2 millinia.
And beside that, what happened to a lifetime commitment to One other person. To share sex with one other person in life, till death do you part? When did this cease to be important?

I have been in love 5 times. My first cheated on me numerous times but I shook that off and was able to love again. Number 2 got another girl pregnant and left me for her. We got back together and I forgave him. Then I caught him in bed with his babys mothers cousin. We got back together. I wrote him everyday when he got locked up when he got out I didnt feel the same. Love was lost.Number 3 got locked up to a life sentence because he was selling drugs but I wasnt aware.4 left me and went to Atlanta then came back and expected me to take him back. I heard a girl giving him oral sex over the phone. The 5th is my baby daddy. He didnt tell me he had a girlfriend and she and I were both pregnant until I was 6 months. Why cant I feel? Can I change this horrible streak of bad? I dont look for love it finds me and now I am afraid to show affection. My heart is cold. What should I do? I’ve been seeing this girl on and off for two years now. I’ve been the one to chase her except when she doesn't want to be with me I say “ok” we break up nicely, and she ends up calling me a couple of days later every time. About six months ago she says she has a life altering epiphany and she loves me but I had already given up on her and started dating other girls but decided to give her another shot anyway. We’ve been back together, six months no problem no break up this time, she is pregnant three months and now and I feel I am obligated to stay with her. I do love her but I don't want to doubt myself later. I’m 25 and ready to be serious. What do you think?

there's this guy i grew up with even before we could walk. me, him, and his sis were really close when we were little. then we got into a huge fight before he left for a vacation and after he came back he had hit puberty and we ignored each other for a couple of years. then i got sick of it and began talking to him again. now everytime he starts a conversation with me or does something nice to me, i get a tingly and special feeling and my heart feels like it swells and i get so happy. i'm not sure if i like him for him or i'm in love with the illusion of liking a guy i've known for a long time? i've never dated before but i've had crushes. but i'm always self conscious around him even though i've never been before.

I'm 30, he's 43. I am pretty mature for my age and he looks like he's my age. We have a fantastic time together, and never fight. When we are together, its as we forget the world is even there. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with us. I guess I feel a bit insecure about our age difference. I feel like he may crave someone older, who has more experience. Am I just overeacting here? Does this have long term potential, and will our age ever get in the way?
