why do the majority of women prefer not to date men with long hair?

is it jealousy that the man's hair is better kept and nicer than the woman's? is it because it is not cool these days? why do women want men to see them past their physical qualities and yet judge men with long hair?

its amazing the types of answes on here. while it is true that most people related themselves to the music they listen to, and therefore have their appearance match. do you people realize there is other types of music besides modern day nu metal and hip hop. every guy with long hair looks a lot meaner than the average short hair ones....how is that womanly? do people realize the metal, death metal (where majority of men have long hair) and all the other forms of music that is not in the mainstream is still valid even though you don't care for it?

can anybody say Snoop Dogg, ?uestlove, Bob Marley, Rob Zombie, Rob Trujillo.....amongst hundreds of others?

Who told you that? You can't generalize anything.. I like men with a long hair but it is more important that the one doesn't have short intellect.. : )

mmmmm. Long hair. I had this boyfriend in High School with the softest long blonde hair. I had really curly long brown hair and it was really the best of both worlds.
Also, I had a huge crush on lots of singers from Metal and Rock bands. It's all about that teenage crush.

My current honey has short hair and that's ok too. It's not that huge of a deal. Hair is such a small thing in the larger picture.

May be men look odd with long hair. And I think that women date close shaved guys with shorter hairstyles that are modern and trendy. Probably, long hair guys need to go back and get their old-fashioned short hairstyles back. I've seen girls trying to avoid the guys with longer hair from personal experience. I've short, so my girlfriend wants to stay that way and doesn't like really long.

I don't know why other women don't like long hair on guys, but I just think it's not cool anymore. I like guys that look like guys from the front and back. And long hair on guys is okay, but I don't think I would date one of them. I prefer bald guys. And I don't think it's jealousy, because almost anyone can grow hair, except bald guys

first, if i wanted to date a woman, i would be a lesbian. I like manly men...which means short hair or a shaved head. second...it's not the 1980's anymore...its a total turn off to date someone who doesnt keep up with the times. how embarassed would you be to go out with a woman wearing a brightly colored blazer with shoulder pads and spandex leggings...

its because of the popularity of this no talent hip hop crap. The music is just SOOOOO COOOOL, even though there is nothing new coming out of this genre. Girls should idolize people with talent, not the ones who are best at disrespecting them.

i thought it was the connotations associated with long hair. im guess that women like mature men. long hair signifies immaturity, and someone who doesnt look after themselves. and women want men who will look after them. why would a woman want to be with a man she thinks cant even look after himself?
