Friends - March 2007

^well I'll admit, that question sounds a little strange, here's some guy over the internet asking people how to make friends, all I need is a little dog named 'Precious' and I'm set*

Anyway, I've lived in a small college town for 2 years and have yet to make any friends (don't think I haven't tried). I've been to churches, bible studies, classes, clubs, parties, coffee shops, sporting events, myspace, facebook, etc.

Granted, I've made tons of "aquaintances," a majority of these people are nice enough, I just get the feeling they're being polite when they see me because mostly our conversations don't "click" or rise above small talk. Believe me, I've tried repeatedly to engage in real conversation with people but to no avail...it's gotten me to the point I'm using words like "avail."

Oh, and I'm a college aged guy that some may stereotype as a "nerd," I prefer to think of myself more as a geek.

I took my son and his friends swimming for his birthday and one of his friends shoes were stolen. I don't know if I should offer to pay for the shoes or not. What are your thoughts?

well my best friend,Jason, is dating my other really good friend Kristen. They have been dating for...2 months. And today when we went to the park together with some friends, I realized something when I was listening to Just So You KNow by Jesse McCartney. I like this girl a lot. We have these moments where everything is at a hault and I just hear me and her. I remember I grabbed her waist and spun her around after chasing her and asked for my cell phone back, and she replied with" Fine, okay," and handed over with the back of her hand in mine and turned her hand and dropped the cell in my palm.
I just need to know, is this bad? Should i tell one of them, or just wait till they break up?

omg k my friend said some stuff (if u want u can click on my name and find out what he said that might help u understand what i mean) and he said he was gettin jealous over somethin stupid, when i asked him today what he is gettin jealous of he said that he never said that and he doesnt know what the heck im talking about. its bugging me like no other and i really need to know what he meant but he wont admit to anything! what can i do that will make him tell me?

Friend in outer circle drove 2 hours to take me to hospital. I called her the next day and she said you don't need to come over and give me anything. I said I know. Then I never went over. Now I have a card for her but do I pay her for gas or would that offend her since she said she didn't want anything?

It seems like our conversations are becoming more brief and I am affraid I am losing touch with my friend. It seems like I have nothing to talk about and everything I start up ends with a brief answer. I have become victim to that horrible "Akward Silence" that really makes our friend ship wierd and I have to say g2g to end the strain. HELP! What shoud I do!

my friend is having a baby and has supposely found out that it is boy. i just have this strong feeling that she is lying about it being a boy. do you think that there are people out there that would lie about something like this? now i have started to think that it might be true because she is having a baby shower and has told everyone that she does'nt want anyone to bring presents but to give money or go pay some money directly off of her layby. to me i think that she doesn't want people to bring her gifts to the baby shower because they will buy all boys stuff. so by getting them to that it will be easy for her to exchange the stuff cause she has it on layby and has the reciept if it really is a girl. another reason why is that there are only girls in the family & no boys & i think that she is after attention and by saying she is having a boy thats excatly what shes getting. she always has to be centre of attention or she gets jealous. what do u think.

Have you ever happened to overhear one of your friends' conversations about you? A conversation in which they have no clue that you are totally listening to them? What if they are good friends to you when you whenever you are around, but just this 1 time you hear some apalling opinions coming from them? What are you supposed to do? Do you just disregard the statements they made? Or do you stop associating yourself with them? How would you handle it?

My friend will tell me something or make a comment, and then say I'm the one who said it. Or I will loan him $65.00 and he swears it was only $45.00. He is the only friend I have that has ever did this to me. He claims I am the crazy one!! He lies to me all the time and then says I am the one who lies. He steals things and then accuses me of being a thief. He talks bad about me to his mother and others. Yet will not stay away from me. He says he's sorry for talking bad about me then does it again. He has his mother thinking I am a terrible person and she doesn't even want me in her house. I think he has a mental problem. Maybe bi-polar. He is convinced he is right about me being the one who said what he really said, It starts big arguments. He goes as far to say that he wishes he had a tape recorder. Even his other friends tell me he has done the same to them. Should I get the tape recorder and show him he is losing it? He is also suicidal!! I also have money and medications missing!
