No, chances are you've just had your humanity hit for the day. As you get older, this happens more. Sometimes at the end of the day, you've talked to pretty much everyone you wanted to- and a whole bunch of people you didn't want to. Then you just want to be by yourself or something- and that's normal. The rest of your friends will catch up with you sooner or later.
For now, I think they'd understand if you said "You know, I am really glad you called, You're a good friend, but I really just need to unwind by myself for a bit." If they don't understand that, well, give them time. (or just don't answer the pone in the first place if you feel like that.) As long as you make SOME time for them then they should be all right with it if you are not always at their beck and call.

No, that doesnt make you an '******'. I think everyone is like that.. I mean.. unless youre like 13.. who wants to spend their time on the phone? Most people work a full time job and dont really want to be bothered when they get home.. They just want to chill... Even though you do talk to your more closer friend every day and not anyone else.. thats not bad.. just means you and your closer friend have a bond and thats good to have with someone.. dont feel bad for not talking to others and talking to someone else.. everyone does it.. I even miss calls on purpose then "accidentally" delete the number.. LOL.. is tht bad? No, its just you being human

I have this exact same problem with my friends sometimes. It seems like that when they call me sometimes, I have nothing to talk about and I feel like saying I G2G too. I also hate it when there is nothing to talk about and I absolutely hate that akward silence that makes ur conversation very strained. Your definetely not an ****** for doing that, but try to atleast have some times when you have an extended conversation with your friend. Many a times I have lost touch with friends because of lack of communication.
PS this is still a problem for me today, but I hope I helped u some!

ha, i do the same thing. i LOOOVVVEE caller ID. no, you're not a bad friend, you're just not as needy as the other person. some people think you have to talk every day and if you don't then it's like you're not friends anymore or something. that bugs the crap out of me, esp. since in my situation, i'm 25 and the needy friend is 33.
