I took my son and his friends swimming for his birthday and one of his friends shoes were stolen. I don't know if I should offer to pay for the shoes or not. What are your thoughts?

take that friend of your son's and that them to the shoe store of their choice and tell him you will buy them new shoes for the one he lost, but that is sad stealing a kids shoe?
