Friends - January 2007

My partner left me a couple of months ago. Since then we've slept together a few times and recently went away together even though we weren't going out. The night before we were due to come back we had a huge argument. I started it over something stupid because I was stressed and felt like I wasn't being treated as even a friend, let alone having any sort of relationship. I asked him to leave and he wouldn't, then when I wanted to talk he wanted to leave so I tried to stop him. I know I shouldn't have. I pushed him around, put myself in the way of the door and tried to hold onto him to stop him leaving. He ended up choking me and stepping on me and throwing me around to try and get me off him. It eventually came to a standstill and he left in the morning. He's not talking to me anymore. I really want to be able to be his freind and heal the hurt I've inflicted. I know it's my fault. Has anyone managed to ask for forgiveness for physical abuse or forgiven someone for it? Is there a way?

Hi,

A work collegue who has been a great friend to me has recently had a still born son.

The funeral is in a couple of days and I'm going to go, I owe this wonderful woman so much.

The thing is, I just don't know what to say. I'm sorry just doesn't seem appropriate.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I know this girl. Ewwwwwww, she is a spitter. She is not chewing tobacco, she just spits. Not a quick spit, she lets it dangle. How do I tell her, I find her habit nasty without hurting her feelings? I tolerated it enough. I just can't take it anymore.

I think my friends think I'm all superwoman this month. This month has been very very stressful for me. I've had band reherals for nights and I wind up exhausted. my homework is piling up. A girl in my grade is being a byotch and spreading nasty rumors about me. Im trying to loose 3 pounds for semi formal. My skin is broken out and acne treatments arent working. My friend (a)is having troubles with her boyfriend. the other( b)is fighting with the first friend. B is stalking a boy and asking my advice. Friend c is asking me to se how the boy im in love with feels about her and advice with her current boyfriend. Friend d broke up with her boyfriend. Im trying to be good to them and my other friends but I get so stressed and ***** or cry. friend e asks me to hang out and gets mad because im already doing something. I am not superwoman. How do I get them to understand. Its tearing me apart quickly. I have loved the boy friend c has like for over a year and am confused how he is treating me

Well im having a party this saturday, and my mom being a mom HAD to tell me to give invitations to everyone in my class, to be nice.
so i did, *this was a week ago* and theres this girl named gina who 60% of the class say they dont like her cause shes stuck up and alll that, etc. especially two of my close friends ashley* Very close friend* and amanda. Well amanda and gina dont likle eacother much and one day amanda told me Dude you didnt invite gina did you?! * i was scared and i said, n-no. then we went home. but this week especially today gina has been teling me * i cant wait for your party or thanks for the invite, and amanda and ashley keep telling me if shes not invited then tell her or amanda to ashley: we should be bodyguards and kick her out!. I dont know what to do i dont like gina that much either, but i dont want to hurt her feelings, *thats why i gotta a reputation of being very smart and nice* but i dont want to let my friends get mad.

We were out with a group of people, and I was really really really hungry. I was so hungry that I could feel like my stomach eating itself- no kidding, I mean I was like dieing. Everyone wanted to get Asian food, so we did. They could all use chop sticks, but I can't...its something I struggle with, because I don't have good manual dexterity. I didn't eat because I didn't want to look ignorant in the group, most of which I was only fairly acquainted with. She got very angry with me later, which I don't entirely understand. She acted like I had done something to embarrass her. I feel this is wrong of her, what do you think?

When scolding my children in public I really like to make it very clear to them who is in charge. To that extent, should I also scold nearby children who are not mine? Should I scold the parents, too? I really think the parents are as much to blame as the children because the parents are the people who make the children such losers. I know it's right to scold in public, the question is, just how far should I go?

I just graduated and am now working for a huge company and loving it my friend had the opportunity to work at an acounting firm but was canned after 3 mos of probation and now works at a factory that will be soon closing. She has not been around much since i began my job. I live with my parents ( high rent) she will come in swear nonstop put down my fave shows and that i read the news. She is a 34 yr old divorcee with kids whom she only see when it is convient for her. An attitude problem & thinks all men find her the sexiest woman to which these men reply no behind her back, lately i have caught her in lie after lie and i don't know what to say i am the only friend she has left. she is trying to be a cougar and it's ridiculous. she actually told her 8 and 10 yr old that santa doesn't have a wife it's a myth he has girlfriends & she is one of them to hide the fact she was talking to her slutty sister about this guy who may or may not exist that got kicked off a dating site. HELP

See i have a friend that iv already had problems with many times before and she is always being mean to me and talking about me and crap like that..... we always end up being friends again, and i always end up getting my feelings hurt.(as usual.....) so i dont konw how to tottaly end it.
see im a christian and so is my dad. i talked to him about it and he just said "Honey, just prey for her & things will get better o.k.?"
i did what he said, which didnt help......

The courts gave my children to an abussive father, then he married a psycho. My kids have gone to the police, talked to teachers, child protective services. Yet the adults in their home always seem to lie their way out of it. It seems, that the system has to prove beyond doubt. Yet bruises, red marks and very detailed testimony has come from both of them. Some parents have had their child/children pulled from their home when it was not needed. Yet other children suffer? What gives? In Nebraska, some do suffer so very much.
