Hi Sean How are You.
How old are you - you dont sound very old- school age perhaps, If this boy is any kind of friend then he should stop if you just ask him to. If not then name calling is a form of bullying, do your other friends know that this bothers you? If they did then perhaps they will stick up for you and tell him it is unaceptable, you could also try to ignore him and go about your business as if you have not heard him when he calls you that. You need to get this stopped if it is upsetting you.
I was bullied by a girl at school who called me names and threatened to beat me up. I ended up going to talk to the school receptionist who knew exactly what to do. The next day the bully came to me and said sorry and that she was not really going to hit me. I was lucky and it ended there once she was challenged.
You need to decide the best course of action for you.
If this name calling does continue and you find it difficult to deal with - talk to someone. Make sure you tell your parents, Maybe a school or college councellor of the same age- these are pupils in the school or college who have been trained to listen to others and help deal with situations like this, they even perhaps know of the boy and maybe other similar situations. You could also talk to teachers, and get help from others too, like your doctor.
The main point is try not to react, don't hit back, and Tell Someone who can help.
Here are some websites that may help you decide what to do:
there are some helpful 'real' case studies too.

Sean sounds like a very nice name. Whenever he calls you by your last name (Which I won't say since you don't like it being said) ignore him. But don't be all g a y about it, as in, don't make it SEEM like you're ignoring him. When he calls you by your last name, just pretend you don't hear him. If he asks why your acting like it, just say "Don't call me _____" If he is KINDA your friend, the least he can do is listen to your wants. If he doesn't stop, and just does it to annoy you after you've asked him, continue to not answer to your last name. Only talk to him when he calls u by your first name, SEAN! Good luck! Feel free to go to my site at www.freewebs.com/itgel-tips if you have more questions!

Tell him that isn't really your last name. Tell him your first name is actually your last name (and first name). Tell him you didn't want to be walking around with the same name being your first and last name. Mohlmann is what you came up with for a last name so you wouldn't feel dorky with both first and last name being the same.
that or just ask him kindly to stop

Hello Mr. Mohlmann,
Ask your friend to call you by your first name, and ask him with a smile on your face, tell him you are fairly sure you think he is being a little rude as you use his first name when you talk with him, and you think it would be very friendly and even more polite if he did the same as it is a bit upsetting for you to have to hear your friend call you by your last name, also ask the other friends in your group of shared friends to ask him to do the same, that way the group becomes bigger and better known to each and every one of you all, I know all my friends by their first names and I use that knowledge to remain friends with them all, and through pure respect, they call me Tony, for that is my first name............. Good luck Mr. Mohlmann, I hope it works for you.

Well, he's your friend. I wouldn't worry about it. My friends call me ALL kinds of silly names & sometimes I wish they'd call me my last name, rather than the stupid ones *lol*. If it really bothers you (in a joking way), say,"Hey, man, they bugs me!". Joke around, though. You don't want him to think you're uptight. Hope this helps.

You just need to let him know that you want him to call you by your first name instead. If he continues to call you by your last name, then don't answer him until he uses your first name. I am sure if you do this for awhile, he will get the hint! (smile)
