my friend is only 13 and she cutts and says she wants to kill herself and i dont think it is just an empty threat, i hav been online tying to see what websites say,our school counsiler is an idiot, i have even chatted online with some ppl that had good advice butit just wasnt enough , she has written 2 poems about her cutting that she says is true and it was very disturbing and i even wrote a "counter story" the main idea being dont die for your past but live for your future remember all you do have to live for... i think it helped but when i asked if she was just humoring me she said maybe kind of jokingly but all the same im not convinced and i think that she really might do it, i have talked to my sis(who is 24) to she if she had any advice but is there any one out there with some advice of their own or past experience plz?

i dont want to lose my best friend

This is a tough burden to place on a friend esp at 13 years old. If she is cutting, then she already has serious problems. Talk with your parents and maybe they can help you, or talk to a school counselor. If you are afraid she will "hate" you because you told someone. Suicide is the NUMBER 1 cause of death in teens so this needs to be taken seriously and as a 13 year old you cannot just be a Friend to her and hope it helps. She needs professional intervention. If you want someone to talk to about how to help her try calling 1 800 Suicide, they will help you learn the best ways to help. And wouldn't it be the pits to live the rest of your life wondering how you could have helped if she did do something.

Ok try to talk to her about it, in a sentance use "you" alot and ask her questions.Maybe touch her knee or her hand so she knows you really care.DO NOT INGORE THIS!Tell someone about it do not ignore this it is seriuos.Ask her to talk to an adult or someone she trusts. If she says no and she says dont tell anyone. You must then tell an adult right away. And always let her know that you will help her.Hope that helped.=).
