He leaves the front door unlocked, leaves lights on all over the house and last night, for the third time, left the cooker on all night. It's driving me mad. My other housemates laugh at him and say it's just him being scatty, but I'm getting really frustrated with it - would they be laughing if the cooker caught fire?! Should I speak to him alone or call a house meeting and address it with everyone at once?

I am 13. In my class the girls are in two groups. Popular and not so much. Last year I was in the middle. I have two best friends, one in each but most of my better friends are in the not so popular group and I like both groups for different reasons.

The problem started a couple of weeks ago. I was spending a bit more time than I normally do in the popular group and one of my good friends in the other group got very jealous. She said that I didnt like her or anything. We had a massive arguement and weren't speaking for days, she turned half my friends against me spreading rumors.

Now we have sorted things out but she's really clingy. She keeps asking me whether she's still one of my best friends. I don't have the nerve to say no, I cant stick another arguement and I'm worried if I say anything she'll turn the rest o the group against me. Im happy to give her up but not the others. How can I subtely say leave me alone without a massive arguement?

Some random guy on the street came up to her and said he'd give her $5 to kick him in the balls. She had some heels on, and well, sent them up into him pretty hard, lol. What would you have done?

you try to help one of your friends and when u need help all they do is just talk about themselves? i can't believe some people after all the things i've said to her to try and help her and all she can do is say "oh" and "what are you doing?". It pisses me off i know she's trying to make conversation but its like she doesn't even care.

I've known my friend for over 20 years. About three years ago, she split with her husband about the same time I split with mine. We both have daughters about the same age so she and her daughter moved in to help balance out the financial situations for both of us. At the time, she had a decent job and so did I. But soon after she moved in with me, she lost her job, so I was back to the same situation as before, only now I had 4 mouths to feed instead of only 2.
For over a year and a half, she lived on Welfare and bought food for the "family" with her food stamps. When we moved into a bigger house, she once again had a decent paying job and therefore we signed the lease together. Once again, soon after, she lost that job too and "borrowed" money from me to pay her portion of the back rent. I got a "Can you help me pay this, I'll pay you back?" Being her friend, and also needing to keep a roof over my head, I paid about $600 in back rent for her out of my income tax return.

I have a friend who just revealed to me that she is in love with a mutual friend of ours. He is a really great guy, but he does not feel the same way at all! What should I do, if there is anything I can do?

Okay, so about a month ago i found myself giving a friend of mine advice about friends. Apparently her niece was having problems at school with a particular girl in her circle of friends (these girls are only 8 might I add). so i gave my friend advice and told her to tell her niece that she really does have a right to pick her friends, that she doesn't have to be friends with somebody because she feels that she has to. So fastforward to now. This same friend that i gave the advice to has turned out to be not only an extremely jelous person (doesn't like it when i make plans with my other friends, doesn't really like any of my other friends) but she also has a big mouth and repeats everything that i've ever talked to her about to her friends. So what do I do? Taking my own advice would be good. I need to let her go but it's not that easy. So how does one learn to prace what we preach when it seems so painful.

Alright, last night i was hanging out with my best guy friend. We were making some jokes about another friend of ours that comes over to his apartment all the time and eats all his food. So, out of no where he tells me (my best friend) that I could/should make dinner for him for the rest of his life. I was kind of dumb founded and didn't know what to say. I responded with "well, you future wife might have a problem with that." His response was "ah, you could marry me, then there wouldn't be a problem." Now I don't really know what to think. Should I just forget about it? Should I say something to him about it? I need some good advice.
Thanks
Meg

I recently had a huge falling out with a friend, we both did and said things that are horrible. I am very sorry for this and forgive him but he hasn't returned my calls or attempts to make amends. I know I need to give hoim space to heal, but what is a good way to open the lines of communication, any grand gestures you can suggest?

my bday is coming up next year on january, and it is not on a weekday, but is on a sunday. for the past two months, i've been constatnly pondering whether if my firends will buy me balloons and presents, so i cud like, you know, carry it around skool and feel special, for just one day. (at my school, its a popular thing to buy your freinds balloons, and then that person carries that around)
last year, people didnt even know my birthday, and it passed by as if nothing happen. i want my freinds to acknololedge it, just once, i'm turning 16!!. i do not really know what my question should be, but how can i tell my freinds it my birthday, without sounding like i want them to give me something. or how to cope with not getting any presents on the day of my birthday, and how to cope with my brithday just passing without anyone noticing?

i jsut basically want people to acknowledge it, and to know my birthday, and to receive some presents/balloons to feel special

Hi, I have a hard time trusting people cause I had already moved from one city to another and the fist experience was very sad. In this first experience I was only 9 years old and the children at school didnt accept me very much cause I was an outsider for them and had a very tough time making friends, I was innocent and trusted with all my hearth but was betrayed over and over. Now I just got married and moved to Houston and I am terrified I wont make true close friends, I am tired of shallow relationships and terrified of unfriendly people.
What suggestions could you give me to make deep connections with people?
