my bday is coming up next year on january, and it is not on a weekday, but is on a sunday. for the past two months, i've been constatnly pondering whether if my firends will buy me balloons and presents, so i cud like, you know, carry it around skool and feel special, for just one day. (at my school, its a popular thing to buy your freinds balloons, and then that person carries that around)
last year, people didnt even know my birthday, and it passed by as if nothing happen. i want my freinds to acknololedge it, just once, i'm turning 16!!. i do not really know what my question should be, but how can i tell my freinds it my birthday, without sounding like i want them to give me something. or how to cope with not getting any presents on the day of my birthday, and how to cope with my brithday just passing without anyone noticing?
i jsut basically want people to acknowledge it, and to know my birthday, and to receive some presents/balloons to feel special

The fact that you are turning 16 is a milestone in your life. It SHOULD be recognized! All you should have to do is make mention of it in casual conversation with your friends! Like "Mqan, I can't believe i'm gonna be 16 on_____!!! Can you think of anything cool we could do so I remember it when i'm 30? 40? I hope we'll still be friends & always remember each others birthdays! Let's make a pact!" Maybe that's lame for you, or too much, whatever the case, if you aren't an extrovert, maybe your friends just dont KNOW you want recognition. Sometimes honey, ya just gotta ring your own bell!! Congrats on your upcoming sweet 16.Start a memory book for it! Write in it where you wanna be in 2yrs.,by 21, at 25. Then keep track of your dreams/accomplishments/goals. Write your heart out!! Someday, you'll be glad you did, and so will your kids,grandkids..(.Just an idea from a 40 somethin'. grandma ;-) God Bless you and make your special day just that.

Being appreciated is a basic need, and teens in high school tend to feel like they're always on display, so not receiving something that you think others do could make you really self-conscious. Keep in mind that it's one day, and it will be over. You may be uncomfortable for seven hours at school, but it will all end at midnight! Does your family throw a birthday party? Try to appreciate what you have--those things are worthwhile too.
Options that you've probably considered: telling a friend your concerns; asking a parent to give you something to "show off."
It sounds like the kids at your school are fairly well-to-do. Keep things in perspective and remember that there are millions of kids around the world that barely receive enough food to eat, let alone balloons to carry around school on their birthday. If it happens--GREAT! If not, think about helping the "have nots" in your life when you have the opportunity. Happy 16th!!!!

Come on Lady, Know one has to buy any one a gift at any time.
People buy gifts for each other because they CARE!
Some remember your Birthday because they CARE, have some sort of meaningful relationship with you! The world does not care about YOUR birthday!
If you have a true friend she/he will never forget you! People that you happen to know, even talk to are not your FRIEND! They are people that you know!
In stead of you worrying about what YOU should get, why not let
humility be a part of your life style? Take on the clocks of virtue, integrity, morality and responsibility, be there for others and your
plate will over flow. Remember your manners at all times, no matter whom you are with.
Hearts are like doors, they open with ease,
To very, very little keys.
And lest you forget, two of these
Are, I thank you and if you please!

Remember to participate in your friends birthdays. I'm sure that will give an opportunity for you to appropriately mention your own birthday.
Sign up for a birthday site like www.birthdayalarm.com and invite all your friends to it.
Are you allowed to decorate the outside of your locker? Put decorations up and include the date Jan ??, 1990 inside the decorations as a conspicuous hint.
Finally if you really want everyone to know it, ask for their birthdays, make a list including your birthday and decorate the page. Hand that paper around to all your friends so none of them will forget each others' birthday (including yours ;)

I ususally don't advise people to do things just for the sake of drawing attention to themselves. But hey, 16 is a big deal for a lot of people. I can't see any wrong in letting people know that you are really excited about turning 16. Lets face it, if your friends don't see you as being excited about turning 16, then why should they. Enthusiasm is contagious.

evidently from previous experience that the GOP is a "reactionary" occasion. They curiously prefer to delude themselves into thinking each thing is high-quality till a undertaking blows up of their face. as an occasion, the GOP management insisted and saved telling us that the "fundamentals of the financial device are reliable" on an identical time as the financial markets began to tumble. It wasn't till AFTER the crash occured that they desperate to aim and shop it from crashing further via coming up TARP (by the type, between the AIG bailout and the introduction of TARP, the Bush Treasury below Hank Paulsen flooded the financial markets with TRILLIONS of greenbacks in liquidity that, to this present day, no one is generally happening with the place that money went). back, from experience, the only situations the GOP seems to be "proactive" and incredibly tries to unravel a perceived undertaking earlier it may happen itself is while they choose conflict. for example this occasion, the GOP insisted that Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction and that they could use them against our hobbies international if we did not avert them from doing it, first. Therein lies the justification for the conflict in Iraq. The worst area of this "pre-emptive" (Bush Doctrine) attack below this justification is that no WMD's have ever been got here across.

If any of your friends come to your house, maybe you could get your mom to mention something, like ask you what you want for your birthday where they can hear it, or marking it on a calender where they can see it. Good luck
