loneliness is when you could be in a room full of people and feel like your invisible. Solitude is where you find yourself when you want to be left alone (to think, read, relax-things like that). Solitude=good, loneliness=bad. Hope this helps.

Solitude: means lack of contact with other people. It may stem from deliberate choice, contagious disease, disfiguring features or repulsive personal habits, or circumstances of employment or situation

Loneliness: an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than just the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected from, and alienated towards, other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any form of meaningful human contact. Lonely people often experience a subjective sense of inner emptiness or hollowness, with feelings of separation or isolation from the world.

Solitude will not necessarily be negative. You may be alone and content with being alone for the time being. However, when you feel lonely it means you lack and want companionship.

the difference is the same as between being alone and being lonely.
solitude is privacy...a welcome freedom from disturbance,
whereas loneliness is lacking companionship, aid, or encouragement. lonliness is sad and damaging to a person; while solitude may help a person to rejuvenate his senses.
