I got into an argument with a friend of mine who I haven't known for too long, actually he is more of a mutual friend of a good friend of mine. I was pissed because he has a tendency to contradict me in anything that I say. I finally got sick of it and told him something to the effect that it was annoying that he reacted to everything that I say with some obnoxious contradiction, that he was reacting this way because he was intimidated by me, and that he was acting like a lost little boy wihout a "daddy" to teach him real confidence. Well I didn't know this guy's dad died when he was twelve, until he responded by saying, "my dad died when I was twelve!" He was really pissed and insulted. I feel real guilty, but I really had no clue about his guy and his dad. If I would have known I would have left the last part out, I was intending to say that he needed to grow up. So how bad is this?

HELP - those who answered my last Q will know that I have a best friend (male). "something nearly happened" between him and another of his friends and i didn't know whether to say that I he shouldn't let her take advantage... new problem,
I didn't say anything ok...
Me and him have been saying for ages how we'd move in together in a few years whilst he goes through uni. She rang him last night and asked him to move in with her. In his credit he didn't say a) that she could move in with me and him or b) that he'd move in with her.
Now he's asking if she could move in with us, I don't really know her well - but i know her well enought to know I don't want to move in with her. But I dunno how to tell him this - and I'm scared that he'll take it the wrong way ... or prefer to move in with her over me. At the moment all that i really have to aim for is the thought of us moving in and I don't want to lose that
Do I say anything? its going to come up again soon and i dunno what to say/how

The deceased is a 6 yr old boy in my neighborhood. He was run over by his school bus. I know his Mom just from the neighborhood. Her loss has touched my heart. I wanted to send money instead of flowers but I don't want to send an offensive amount. Is $25 too little?

My girlfriend is very insecure and when I lost my job last week, I asked for some time to reflect on the situation but did not fully explain the situation to her. She thought I was out doing something bad and late that night when her exhusband called after a fight with his current wife, they ended up getting together. She felt bad and told me, and I now want him to fess up to his wife as well but he says that if she finds out that he will post pictures of my girlfriend (his exwife) on the internet of when she was posing naked back when they were married. He also threatens my professional license and any other dirt he thinks he can dig up, makes no difference if it is true or not. That is like stabbing me in the back and then continueing to twist the knife. OUCH.Forgot to mention that my girlfriend is 8 months pregant with my child. Triple OUCH.

One of my real friends told me that some of the girls from our "crowd" of people we hang around with were saying things behind my back such as:
- I got married too young and they are dissapointed in me for it
- I don't know what I'm doing with my life
- I don't work (which is true, but that is a personal choice)
- They make fun of the clothes that I wear
- They wonder why I am the way I am (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean)
- When I first got married, they said I made little effort to keep in touch, but on the other hand, whenever I called them and left messages, they never called me back

This happened six months ago and I don't talk to those girls, or even take a second glance at them because I know what they did to me is something real friends would NEVER do! Friends are supposed to be supportive, there for you when you need them and they do NOT, EVER backstab you! Even though it happened a while ago and I'm not friends with them anymore, why am I still hurting?

The girlfriend of my best friend thought we liked eachother so she ended up verbally attacking me over it and forbidding him to talk to me. I am a wreck but I am stubborn and full of pride so I am having a hard time figuring out how to keep him from turning his back on me... We haven't spoken in about two weeks.

well we still see each other a lot because my cousin is best friends with my ex. It started out like this I had know of my ex since high school. About 2 years after I graduated my cousin starts hanging with her. We hooked up after playing a game and it was all good. We were like friends in public and when we felt the need to get close that's what we did. After about a month into the relationship she started talking to this other guy and left me alone but we still had feelings for each other then one day we hung out and she broke up with the guy and got back with me. It was all good for about a week and now she's talking to another guy and just wants to be my friend, but she say's she still has feelings for me. Am I doing something wrong or is she the problem

We had just got a foster child.Although we only had her for a little while we all became very attached.She went to another family which were friends of her mom.They said we can call anytime and if we want to see her we could.It is just hard not having her here.What have you done to not feel like someone is missing?
