Ahh, the eighth grade prompt for the Tennessee Writing Assessment three years ago. I don't have a "best Friend" right now. Qualities you would look for, may include someone who is caring and who will stick with you no matter what. You also want to look for someone who is dependable. If you ask them to do something, you know they will do it. Also, you want to look for someone you can trust and who is honest. Ask yourself, Can I trust this person with my deepest secret? If I ask this person to do something for me, will they do it ASAP? If I am going through hard times, will this person comfort me and spend time with me, or will he or she just go to the movies or the arcade with other friends? You also want someone who will spend time with you and and trust you. If you trust your friend and he or she doesn't trust you, your feelings will be very hurt, and thus that would not result in a good relationship. Of course, you want someone who likes what you like, but if you enjoy different things, that's okay. Then, you can take turns trying each others' hobbies, and you might learn some new skills. So, let's recap: A friend should be caring, trusworthy, fun, responsible, and able to spend time with you. However, if your friend is all that and more, but you're not, you're not playing your part. In order to have a good friendship, you must do your part and have the above qualities as well.

A Best Friend (to me) should be a person that cares about you just as much as you care about them.
They are there to listen to you when you need someone to talk to, laugh with, give you advice, hang out with, you have lots of things in common with them. Just like spending time them period. They compliment you, when you deserve it. They could tell you the honest truth when you need it.
Someone that would do anything for you, if you asked them to do it. That is a best friend to me.

A best friend would not be someone that is jealous of you, or always trying to out do you, always taking the attention away from you when you are together, two faced, they criticize you or make fun of you in private or around other people, compete with you for guys, or just use you.

in a best friend, you should find an interest that you both have. if you or your best friend were to ever get into trouble, the other one would always be there to bail you out. Also, when one of you wants to go somewhere, the other one would probably go with you without whining, or complaining.

Your best friend loves you in spite of the flaws they know you have. You never hide yourself from them, and you put absolute trust in them. And you do the same for them. Best friends understand that its a two way street.

i think that the person has to be truthful honest and not scared to speak their mind because you want a Friend that you can trust and one that wont lie to you, and if you want advice from them they should tell you what they think and not what you always want to hear. . .
