Friends - November 2006

I made friends with a woman I met at my child's nursery. Although we are very different the kids get on really well and we meet regularly. I feel like I am more of a friend to her than the other way round at times. The issue is that she did not even get me a card for my 40th, did not get me anything when I got married this August after saying both times that she was looking for something and would buy us a present soon! I do not expect it from people but I feel that she has made no effort and has made too many promises. For eg she was going to help me buy shoes for the wedding, help me on the day, etc but nothing materialised - same as the presents or cards. I have made her and her child as well as husband dinner and lunch on many, many occasions but this is hardly ever reciprocated. So I feel that I give a lot and do not get much back. I feel really pissed off basically and wonder what others would do in such a situation. Also she is about to move miles away in 3 wks time.

I really need help. Is any one friends with a girl with the user name Barbie. It's just her boyfriend found out that we have been writing to each other and I assure you we are only friends nothing more than that but her last email got me worried because I think her boyfriend is the jealous type. I would go and see how she is but I live in the UK and she lives in the US. so if anyone is close friends with Barbie. Can somone please go and check on her and make sure she is alright. And let me know if she is. I would try emailing her but she has told me not to because her boyfriend has some how been reading are messages together.

i have no idea what i should do my friends are starting to hate me because there crushes are starting to like me. i cant help that fact that they like me and think i am hott or whatever. my son put a knife to my back tonight and threatened to stab me...i dont know how much more i can take...he was diagnosed bipolar two years ago and it just keeps getting worse...and for all the self righteous ones who might answer with well have you tried this or have you tried that...well duh, yes i have tried everything that i am capable of trying...i would not even be considering this horrible prospect if i hadnt...he has been in and out of the hospital, intensive weekly counseling, medications, NOTHING works....we have no doors left in our apartment because he has smashed them all in...along with holes in every wall and kitchen cupboards ripped off...to answer other common questions...cant afford to send him to bootcamp i dont receive child support, can barely afford to pay the bills...dont have any family to help either so if any one has some non self righteous suggestions i would appreciate the help

A bunch of friends and I had the idea of having themed movie nights, where we choose one type of movie, and watch a bunch of them while having a party that has a theme related to the type of movie (We did horror movie night on Halloween, with spooky decorations, and we're gonna watch the Godfather while having an Italian themed party, I'm making pasta, and we've got decorations to make the room look like an Italian restaraunt.)

The good news is, out of this group of about 6 of us who are doing this, I'm the only guy, and all the rest are girls. :P

Unfortunately, the only way they agreed to watch the Godfather movies with me is that they want to do a chick flick night afterwards. Their idea for the party is makeover night, with curlers and facials and nail-painting and all that stuff, and they tell me I'll be "joining the fun". Is there another idea I can suggest for that night, or should I take it like a man and get my hair and nails done along with everyone else?

My 13 year old refuses to go to school because he made the goofy mistake of asking a girl that goes to his school some very inappropriate graphic, sexual questions during a chat. This girl shared the details of what he said with their whole class. Now he is being called a pervert. Even those who he thought were his friends are shunning him and saying unkind things. He is not a pervert; he knows he made a mistake. He could always deny it, but he is not one to lie. What should he do? What should I do?

Ok, Anyway i went to my freind timmys house. And i spotted 20 bucks on the kitchen floor Over there so anyway i told their Mom i was going home i told here somthing like i was sleepy because i got up around 4 or somthing and i probly did for all i know.
Anyway i went to dollar store :( And spent the the money
and anyway when a walked back home since the car was broken
They had came by and they knew it was me.
So that was like a month or so ago and i stil feel guilty about it.
and my freind wont let me come over :(
So anyway i got a copy of The fast and the furis Tokyo Drift
for him and i need help with an apology to go with it.
I mean dont give me a cheat but i mean how should i write it and stuff
to let them know i am genuinly sorry for what i have done and we all make mistakes somtime in our lives, you know i mean as far as i know there very nice people and i feel genuinly bad over this

My best friend of 6 years became friends with someone who was desprately trying to ruin my life I didn't understand how someone who was my best friend could do this to me so, I stopped being friends with her. She tried for a while to become friends but I just ignored her. I really did want to be her friend but I was so hurt, so eventually I got over it and about 4-5 months later I tried talking to her and she was angry and refused to even talk to me and definitely didn't want to be my friend or anything close to it. I was upset but pretended like it didn't bother me so now 3 months later i'm realizing I can't pretend anymore and I really do miss her! I don't know what to do because I'm too scared to talk to her because I don't want to get hurt again. I also stopped being friends with all of our friends and they are now just friends with her so it's a pretty complicated situation. Anyone have any advice? <3

I am almost subconsciously mean. I don't know why and it has been this way for like the past five years. I am somewhat of a social misfit (I am in high school last year). I was sexually abused as a kid so I guess it might be insecurity but, I just find myself just blurting out really mean stuff when someone says something that is slightly incorrect. As you can imagine, people don't like me much. Is there a way I could change this? I have tried the whole counting before you talk and it only lasts for a while. I guess another thing is that I don't have much to be happy about. I have no girlfriend or great friends. Just a bunch of really hard classes. So, has anyone had this problem and what do you suggest?
