In the letter, you should tell Timmy's parents honestly why you took the twenty dollars. Also, let them know (just like you said) that the act that you did was completely wrong. The broken friendship that was the result of your actions is something that you regret and are "genuinly" sorry for. You should probaly also give them a 20 dollar bill attached to the letter. Let them know that this experience helped you learn a lesson in life and, like you said, "we all make mistakes sometime in our lives" Good luck!

Judging by what you wrote here I don't think you need any help! What matters in an apology is sincere regret and an effort to right your wrong, which definitely shows here. We all do stupid things and feel about about them afterward. (Well at least we should feel bad...) That's good that you're doing what it takes to earn his friendship back, as well as the respect of his family. You have a good heart!

Well before you give them a movie why don't you find a way to give them their 20 bucks back. Maybe it was their moms and it was all she had??? You know I do think you are headed in the right direction...guilt can eat you up inside!!!!
Better than a letter would be to tell them face to face!!!
Put it into your own words....as long as you are sincere it will be a perfect apology!~!!!

I Hope this Prayer Will Help You write your apology Note:

God, perfect God--
You created me
destined for perfection;
how far have I wandered
from that destiny!
How much of my purity
have I squandered
through careless, thoughtless,
self-centered behavior--
behavior wanting in morality
and holiness.

Admit you did it , give back the twenty bucks and apologize. Tell them you realize their friendship was worth more than the junk you bought with the money.

I would print out what u just wrote here, put dear timmy on it and sign your name...attach a 20 dollar bill to it and there is your perfect letter. what you wrote here was sincere and from your heart. It is exactly what your letter should say.

If you do this realize that it will probably make things worse because you're bringing up the incident again and now they have something to remember it by. I wouldn't write the letter.
