After a conversation with a friend or anybody, I find that I could have said something more effective or should have said something else.
How can I stay on my toes and always find the rights words to say?

All too often we say the first thing that we think of and it usually could have been reworded or modified to really mean exactly what deep down we wanted to say. Personally, l will not say anything until l have given careful thought to what it will do.If you can fight off those first few thoughts then usually the perfect things to say will come shortly after.

I think it's impossible. When you are in a conversation, especially a heated one, you tend to be caught up in the moment and aren't really thinking of clever things to say. After the conversation is over, and you have time to think clearly, that is when you go Oh! I should have said this or I should have said that. The only people who come up with the great answers every time are the ones who aren't really listening to what you say. They are too busy thinking of what they are going to say back.
