Pardon my ignorance, I have no clue at all as to the answer of this question. If the answer is yes, how would you do it? Are there fertile soil under those layers of sand? Or can you turn the sand into soil by er... the word escapes me... say 'coagulating' it with humus and the like? You understand what I mean. Also, I wasn't thinking specifically about reclaiming it for agricultural use, suppose I have a billion dollars, and I feel like turning a desert into a patch of green.

I hate them to an extreme! They're always in my room during the summer. So at night i end sleeping completely under the covers and i end up sweating myself to sleep. Well, not exactly to sleep. I swear sometimes they are out to get me. I know it's stupid and weird, but i'm serious. And those flying beetles, man don't even get me started on those either!

I was walking home today on the sidewalk and thought of the idea of having grass paths instead of concret sidewalks. Like, where the sidewalk is just has the grass either mowen lower or has a little bit of gavel with the grass. It could be the same width as a sidewalk but would be better for the environment. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? I think out world is turning into a concrete place and we need to change that.

Hello!

I am looking to move to Portland within the next year and am looking for resources to help with my career search.

I am looking for:
-websites that focus on or contain jobs in the environmental field
-job listervs, especially ones that focus on community good or environmental jobs
-general environmental listervs that might contain job postings

All of these specifically in Portland, please.

Thank you very much!
Laura

Our apartment complex has a few trees but there are apartments that are in direct sun from early afternoon on. Trees are great for our environment, beautiful to see, great for birds, and great for people. Why don't we encourage government officials to put more trees on government owned land and property of "Hud" new homes? Why aren't more trees planted?

Wouldn't it be environmentally better if we had a space station that held all the garbage in the world?? That way we'd have less problems with pollution and all of that. I was also thinking corpses too but I understand that people go to graves to greive over their dead and all. So...what you guys think?
