The world has been here for approximately five billion years, I estimate that it will still be here for at least that much longer.

No relax the world is gonna be OK ,
climate change(Global warming) is just going to affect all that lives on the surface
but there are so many other possibilities
here is my collection of ends of the humanity
many predictions are for the years between 2012 and 2020
Nostradamus,the mayas ,Egyptians Jesus ,
and Terrance Mckennas time wave who put the magnetic output of the world into a computor projection that stopped at zero in 2012,this means the globe has stopped and it starts turning
the other way ,the resulting change of currents will turn the planet into a giant washing machine cleaning the surface
then there are the meteors storms (armageddon) ,the gulf of Mexico is the result of one that would have made life exstinct for a while ,this would result in an other ice age because globe gets covered in dust for a few years, blocking out the sun.
then there are more posible natural disasters
Volcanos are coming to life everywhere
the weather has giant storms like hurricanes ,tornados ,tidal waves ,earth quackes
a shift of the earth crust ,would change the position of the poles
under Anrarctica were found fosilized tropical plants indication the pole must have been in a different place then (the mainland atlantis is thought to be under it )
Apart from that , the biggest threat to any species of exstinction is ,when there are too little ,and when there are too many ,so overpopulation is also a threat
and the USA appears to be gunning for a global nuclear conflict .it is most likely that this will get us first ,looking at present politics
the planet will probably survive unless humanities bombs result it to be knocked out of its orbit
so many ends to choose from
if it wasnt so serious it would be rediculous
meanwhile enjoy life .and make the most of it at least we are all in the same boat

Of course. It is either God will end the world to judge people or something very complicated.
A meteor or aseroid will a;ways hit the earth, but these are usually small sized. But meteors that are 6 miles long can hit the earth, they flatten a lot of land and cause monster tsunamis. But these rarely hit the earth once every thousand years.
The killer meteors are ten miles wide. They kick up so much dust it blocks out sunlight (you know what happens without sunlight). But these visit the earth once every 13 million years.Scientists think this meteor killed the dinosaurs.
It is either that or the sun will use up all its gases and burn out. But the sun still has plenty of gas, without having to go to the gas station. So we have about a billion years to go.
The earth can't last forever anyway. There has to be an end to every story, and the earth has to be destroyed sooner or later.

chiari you are for real aren't you. You poor little bugger. There are too many people who will mess with your head if you let them. I'm nearly 60, I have studied a lot of things, I was a science teacher and have three degrees. When I was young I studied most religions. Since I retired I have become a hypnotherapist, amongst other things. I recognise the guy you mentioned. He is effectively a cultist, for some reason I never got off on controlling people and I don't much like people who do. (I could hypnotise an entire auditorium if I wished)
I firmly believe that this is a great time time to live. The possibilities that the technology offers are endless. Please ignore the Prophets of doom, they are idiots who simply get off on jerking your strings.

Yes I believe it will with all the gases and chemicals being released into our air and depleting our ozone layer, and many other factors. Our resources are being used up really quickly! Prophets and other religious people who read the bible and depict its messages say the world is supposed to end in the year 2012 (i don't know how true that is after all it is tv) but I think it will be gone sooner than people think.

Yes, as both a believer of Christ and a somewhat interested person in science.
The world has problems. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia died because of global warming, the middle East is sure to run out of oil in the near future, and humans keep killing each other to prove some point.
Do you see people running red lights or stop signs as evolving into better humans? Neither do I. I see it as people will take the most easy road to justify their personal (but selfish) means. Even cutting corners or doing things to hurt others to benefit themselves.

No, I think what is meant is the end of an age and the beginning of a new age. Astrologers know of it as the end of the Piscean Age (33 A.D - 2000) and the beginning of the Aquarian Age which begins at year 2001 to year 4000. The aquarian age is sometimes referred as the Golden Millenium of Christ.

Yes, everything has to come to an end some time in a life. But what's scary is that nobody seems to be prepared to save the environment, and the world might give up on humanity.

The world will come to an end by humans. We have to admit, we are stupid, we ruin the planet we live on. I mean now in this day of age, we have Nukes, which can destroy whole cities, which can ruin the climate and which then can cause a nuculear winter/summer. Even though they can cause this much damage countries still keep them, thinking they can use for self defence. All we need is a nuculear war and say bye to this world.
Then of course you have robots, countries like japan which are pushing robot technology will regret it one day. All we need are robots able to think for themselves, able to learn by themselves and able to control the way we live. Then they think to themselves that why they are taking orders by a weaker race and revolt.

Yes, at least for us.
Because, I'm somewhat religous (in my own way), and think that humans have gotten totally out of control - doing horrible things to eachother, animals, the enviroment and everything. I think people have gone too far in really destroying god and religion, and by my belief, I think we will be eliminated - soon. This way, the cycles of life on earth can start anew. Whether we bring it upon ourselves somehow, or something natural happens.
I think future generations of creatures will be finding our fossils one day as we found the dinosaurs, and be asking themselves "what went wrong"?

REVELATION IS A HARD BOOK TO UNDERSTAND, BUT IT TELLS ABOUT "A NEW EARTH" BECAUSE THE OLD EARTH, THE SUN, MOON AND STARS HAVE PASSED AWAY.
THE BIBLE SAYS THAT NO ONE KNOWS THE EXACT TIME, BUT SCRIPTURE TELLS OF SIGNS TO LOOK FOR.
MANY THINGS WRITTEN IN REVELATION ARE SYMBOLS OF WHAT THE AUTHOR SAW IN HIS VISION THAT GOD WANTED HIM TO WRITE DOWN. SOME OTHER THINGS ARE LITERAL.
THERE ARE SEVERAL SCRIPTURES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT . IF IT WASN'T LATE, I WOULD LOOK SOME UP FOR YOU. I IMAGINE YOU COULD SEARCH ONLINE FOR SOME INFORMATION ALSO AND YOU WOULD PROBABLY LEARN THERE.
THIS WORLD IS CORRUPT AND AT SOME POINT GOD WILL DO A PERFECT CLEANSING, BUT............IF WE ARE RIGHT WITH GOD, WE SHOULDN'T FEAR.
THINGS WILL GET HORRIBLE, BUT GOD SAYS FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS.
I WOULD HATE TO BE THE SIDE GOD IS POURING OUT HIS WRATH ON IN THAT TIME.
I FORGET WHERE THE VERSE IS ............"EYES HAVE NOT SEEN, NOR EARS HEARD, ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE THAT LOVE HIM."
