So change is the norm nothing is static. Major or minor Nothing we can do about it. How do you feel about this and what would you do to help yourself through all this?

that the relatively recent rise in global surface temperatures are just part of the Earth's natural cycle.

If this is the case, as so many on here have stated in their responses to questions, this must obviously mean that 98% of scientists are wrong, unaware or not taking these past cycles into consideration or just plain stupid enough to put their reputations on the line...especially when you think that each report/paper/idea etc.. is heavily scrutinized by peers and rightfully so because that is how scientists operate to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in their expert fields.

So my question is this, since so many also want to "talk" science facts...if 98% of scientists are telling us that there is an umbelievably high probability that humans are a major cause of recent warming trends, relatively speaking, then why should the rest of us, that is the lay, or moderately educated in this area that agree with the 98%, believe you over the majority? Evidence plz

Ok! Disturbing Item on Sky News http://www.sky.com/news relating to the Northern Ice Shelf melting! I cannot believe that Some Major European Companies think that because the ice is melting it's good for business! They believe it's good because it will shorten a shipping journey by 5000 miles! How dumb can they possibly be? Will they still be buzzing about it when the economy goes down the pan because Global warming and incidently the Ice Shelf melting causes pandemonium with the weather and flooding etc, which in turn will cause a Global Economy U-Turn? I think it's about time Businesses grew up and realised the concequencies of Global Warming! Wether or not it is caused by Man or Natural! Fact the Ice Shelf has shrunk nearly a quarter in 20 years with 2007 being a record breaking year for the melt! In 15 years there WILL be a quicker passage to the US

If this happens! Then the weather and economy will start to turn! How are businesses going to react to that?

What do you think?

I own two gas stations. I think most people who deny global warming are on the same boat with me.

Whine aid station http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070822/sc_afp/sciencenorwayclimate

quote(wire)
grown moose belches out methane gas equivalent to 2,100 kilograms (4,630 pounds) of carbon dioxide a year, contributing to global warming, Norwegian researchers said Wednesday.

That is more than twice the amount of CO2 emitted on a round-trip flight across the Atlantic Ocean from Oslo to the Chilean capital Santiago
Realizing that the support of Al Gore and the liberals would quite possibly involve a large ingestion of beer on a regular basis, would it be best for the environment that Al suggest they switch to harder liquors to avoid gas emission resulting from consumption? Perhaps the use of harder liquors might make more people ameinable to the drastic amount of tax and spend schemes in the work as well as surely something like that would be needed to continue this type of "blind acceptance" of this type of emerging policy from Al and the Pelosi/Reid regime.

How do they expect anyone to take them seriously when they say stuff like this? and when they have people like albert gore coming out with a supposed documentary that's really just propaganda, its no wonder most people aren't jumping on the global warming bandwagon. I say just wait awhile, it will be back to global cooling within 20 years.

What do you think about this company's idea of slowing global warming by creating more plankton to suck carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere?
I read that environmental groups are worried that Planktos may make a profit by seeding and feeding the seas. So what? Gas companies and car manufacturers make big profits by releasing CO2, why shouldn't Planktos make a profit by reducing it?
Besides taking CO2 out of the atmosphere, plankton is a foodsource for multitudes of creatures, and wouldn't a blanket of plankton also cool the water (I heard that warmer water accelerates global warming)?
IMO I think we should back this guy up and investors should buy his stock, so he can get on with his work!

Ok. This is just out of my curiousity. Why do some people say global warming is real and others say no. Is it cause it true and the people who say no say that because they are afraid of facing it. Or is it that people who say its real say it so they can prepare us for the future?
