At least here in the southern UK we have had a very cool, cloudy, wet summer. For the moment, at least, global warming does not seem to be the flavour of the month. Also there is only so much repetition the public is interested in, and I guess broadcasters know that. It will get more interesting when the government tries to introduce measures which bite on carbon emissions or alternatively tries to explain away why it cannot meet its targets. I see it at the moment as a bit of a phoney war, but one which I feel will hot up in perhaps five years time.

The media do what the media do - latch onto a story and flog it to death until people become bored, at which point they move on to something else.
What we're seeing in the media now is less sensationalistic reporting, less journalistic license and a greater focus on the core aspects of global warming. It no longer seems to be so much about the media writing the news but reporting it instead.
As for concern having gone down - it's actually gone up. The World Opinion Report into global warming this year shows 92% of people view it as a serioes problem, up from a year ago when the figure was 90%.

a predicted result of global warming is an interruption in the normal course of the gulf stream which will produce cooler weather in England.
Discussion has gone up but not on the three older networks (NBC-CBS-ABC) because the presidential races are more more interesting to many people

Because it's clear that it's not caused by man, and the dire predictions are never going to come true.
Remember the doom and gloom before Y2K? Same thing.
