I don't. It gets 120 something here in the summer, but I think thats just cuz thats normal. Also, it gets REALLY cold, like 50 so I don't think global warming is a problem.

"As early as 2020, 75 million to 250 million people in Africa will suffer water shortages, residents of Asia's megacities will be at great risk of river and coastal flooding, Europeans can expect extensive species loss, and North Americans will experience longer and hotter heat waves and greater competition for water, the report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says.

The potential impact of global warming is "so severe and so sweeping that only urgent, global action will do," Ban told the IPCC after it issued its fourth and final report this year."

"The report says emissions of carbon, which comes primarily from fossil fuels, must stabilize by 2015 and go down after that. Otherwise the consequences could be "disastrous," said IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri."

I know, I know ok..it's been talked about to death.
But I'd like to truly understand why it is that there are X amount of people in the world that don't believe this thing about Global Warming and that its happening.
They say it's just a natural occurance that happens with the earth. Ok yeah.......I agree the earth does lots of things naturally and warming is one of them. However
this is the problem I have with people who don't believe in Global Warming. How much crap year after year after year do we continue to put into the atmosphere........tons and tons of it.
So I'd like to know who the jacka*s is that has the research that's telling those who don't believe in Global Warming that everything's gonna be just fine.....we can do whatever we want to the planet it'll be ok
YOU CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS AND BELIEVE THERE ISN'T GOING TO BE ANY REPROCUTIONS FROM IT....or maybe what it really is is you don't really care if its true or not. Because its alot easier not to care isn't it!

Many of the world's major faiths share some traits. The modern environmental movement seems to share some of those traits:

1. Dogma - the so-called truths that are believed, without question, by the adherents to the faith. Christians believe Christ is the son of GOD. Environmentalists believe there is "scientific consensus" on man made global warming.

2. Sin - An act or thought that goes against the dogma. Christians believe murder is a sin. Environmentalists believe burning fossil fuels is a sin, as is claiming man is NOT responsible for global warming.

3. Forgiveness - A way to atone for our sins or a way to continue to sin and still achieve salvation. Christians believe that a belief in Christ is the son of GOD and that he died so that we may be saved is how we get to heaven. Environmentalists believe that if they buy carbon credits from Al Gore, they can keep driving their SUVs without feeling guilty.

Go ahead, flame me, I can take the heat.

If the anti-global warming folks are wrong, then our kids and our kids kids are in trouble. Is it worth that risk? Why not do something "just in case"?

Do you believe global warming is caused by man alone or merely a natural part of earth’s cycle? Or do you believe its part of earth’s cycle but is also being sped up by man?

Conventional wisdom says that man is responsible for global warming. Is this hype or is it backed by scientific data? Please provide data if possible.

I think global warming is a big crisis and we all need to be educated about it. There are things people can do, even if they do not support global warming, that can help the environment.
So what do you think about it? are you all for it? against? trying to understand? What do you think?

I have two things that I think would have a dramatic effect (for the good). These two changes alone would improve Americans lives, our health, our family, our society, the enviroment and the price of fuel. These two changes would be painless for the average individual. The only people who would not like it are the super wealthy and the super lazy. You may laugh at me but I doubt you could dispute me. The benefits are almost immeasureable. Please think about it and don't dismiss it.
1-Ban all non-esstential work for one day a week, Sunday or any other day
2- Ban drive thru restuarants
The energy savings would be phenominal, gas prices would plunge. The family would strengthen as would the atmosphere from one day of rest. Lazy people would have to turn off their automobiles to walk for the fat laden fast food (health improvement). The list goes on. These two things practically didn't even exist 50 years ago and niether did global warming. Let's start a new lobby and make it happen.

When the Earth starts to cool after the sun passes its maximum in solar variation, will the liberals admit they were wrong? Or will they hope nobody notices?

It is hard to find anything about global warming hysteria that does NOT make you laugh out loud. But how about this one: Snow & ice is caused by water vapor in the atmosphere that comes into contact with cold. So as warmer oceans evaporate more easily, water vapor in the air hitting the polar regions will cause MORE SNOW & SLEET & RAIN leading to a net INCREASE in the polar ice packs. RIGHT? If there is global warming we should be seeing the ice packs GROWING, shouldn't we?

To visualize this, remember what happens when water condenses on the outside of a cool glass of lemonade on a summer day or water condenses on a cold window in the winter.

I don't believe it is. And I don't think that evolution is valid either. So I want you to come up with a few reasons why global warming is not a serious issue, with out reference to evolution or how old the earth is. I have to write a paper on this.

I see people yacking and blabing all the time about CO2 emmisions and trendy indicator graphs that don't tell me anything.

The hippies call it Global warming, but I've never seen someone (on either side) name a figure connected to the global average temperature. I mean...if everyone is convinced that the planet is heating up...how much? what was the average temperature planet-wide 10 years ago and what is it now? is it higher or not? and how much?

I don't think we see these figures because we can't get a reliable planet-wide reading. we get limited surface readings at random locations, and even more limited upper atmospheric readings. No one knows what the global average temperature is! So why does everyone insist it's going up?

If your all getting upset because we're hurting the ecosystem or making the planet smell funny or look grungy...say THAT. Call it Global Littering, or Global Pollution. Don't call down the end of the world and blame it on statistic we can't measue!

I want to know what the main arguments are for this and against this. Ten points for the best, original work answer. I, for one, think Global Warming is real, but this is not about me or my decisions. This is not about opinions either. I want a clear, concise, objective evaluation of the topic. Anything less, will not be chosen.
