Global warming's a myth. No need to fear it.

As the glacier masses on Antartica and Greenland melt, it will add water to the oceans, substantially raising sea level and flooding costal cities around the world.

As the tundra in Canada and other countries melts, it will unfreeze vast amounts of plant material, which when broken down by bacteria will release more methane into the atmosphere, which will cause further global warming.

The world's weather patterns will be usurped by the disruption of the normal exchange of hot and cold air in the upper atmosphere, and may become completely unpredictable - increased numbers of hurricanes and other forms of extreme weather; drought or flooding in places where such is unprecidented; even relatively small changes in normal rainfall could endanger crops, creating worldwide famine.

And many, many species susceptible to changes in rainfall or temperature would be severely endagered. One study predicts 18% to 35% of a sample of 1,103 animal and plant species would be extinct by 2050, based on future climate projections.

So. Sea level rise, weather changes, possibleworldwide crop failures, and as many as 35% of the species on earth extinct.

Of course, as Ron pointed out, whether or not the threat of global warming has been exagerated is still a matter under debate (though a lot of those dismissing the possibilty simply don't realize that a global difference of a few degrees in temperature or a few feet would have a large overall effect). But assuming it does have even a few degrees' effect on the overall tempterature, some or all of the above is what's generally predicted.

You will likely hear a lot of wild-eyed alarmism on this question, but it is not true. Al Gore's movie says it is likely we will see a 20 foot increase in sea level in a day. This is completely wrong. Even the climatologists who think AGW will be catastrophic agree that it will take 1,000 to 5,000 years for sea level to rise 20 feet.

The melting arctic sea ice is cyclical. It happened in 1905 and 1944. Both times the ice came back quickly. The polar bears are not in trouble. We have more than 20,000 polar bears right now, a lot more than the 5,000 polar bears we had in the 1950s.

Recent research indicates up to half of oberved warming is not real but an artifact of poorly sited weather stations.

Stephen Schwartz of Brookhaven National Lab a combination of surface temps and ocean heat content to calculate climate sensitivity (how much global temps will rise when CO2 is doubled) more accurately. Schwartz found that the climate is not nearly as sensitive to rising CO2 as once thought and shows that AGW will not be catastrophic.

It is going to make the earth warm and then all the ice is going to melt like on mountains and stuff, and ice places. Then a lot of places near water is going to flood because too much water is going into the ocean. And a lot of animals in the sea will be harmed because the fresh water is mixing with the salt water and it can hurt the animal with lots of bio which i cant explain. but that is a little bit.

Its main effect will be to lower property values along the ocean shore and raise them a comparable amount further inland.

There's actually a crap load of things it could be doing. Research it.
