How can instituting any of the following changes possibly adversely effect the US?
Reduce oil and fuel consumption in our homes and cars.
Reduce traffic on the road by car pooling.
Reduce cars on the road by replacing them with bikes and scooters.
Recycle everything that can be.
Use less energy in our homes, lights, electronics.
Waste less water, plant more natural ground cover (strawberries for example) instead of grass.
Stop cutting down forests and instead create tree farms.
Restore old lands and structures instead of developing new ones.
Lessen the urban sprawl and build higher structures.
Eliminate inefficient street lighting and install efficient and subdued street lighting (hooded, pointing toward the ground)
Plant and harvest our own gardens and crops.
Establish more preserved wildlife parks (widen boundaries and create new ones).
Create incentives for every home to use Solar energy and wind power.

California is considering forcing automakers to reduce their vehicles' emissions. At what price?I. I am not wealthy and I can barely afford a $15,000 vehicle. How am I supposed to to afford a more expensive vehicle?

I think the automakers should ignore global warming until hydrogen fuel cell vehicles can be sold for $15000.

NASA has found several indications that Mars once had water on it. I'm betting next they'll find a alien civilization that once thrived, but because they were unable to stop using their flying saucers, and they didn't buy enough carbon credits, they created a catastrophic environmental change which wiped them out.

So if the Aliens couldn't figure it out, what chance do we have?

We have enough resources to reduce the price rather then keep sending more money into the war in Iraq.
I am not against the war, but feel we should do more for our own.

Climatologists are not saying that global warming is happening. In fact, they are saying just the opposite. There is no man-made disaster on the near or future horizon. There is a warming trend, one that occurs naturally in nature. One thing I have seen and it makes me angry is that all of this is done without any hard, empirical scientific evidence. This has grown out of the neo-Darwinian strangle hold on science. Instead of science, this is what my two children are being fed: fairy tales and lies.

Try to determine whether this is a hypothesis with solid evidence to back it up, or one that has not yet been supported.

Should we get excited about global warming? After all, according to Gore, it is a phenomon attributed to Bush over the last six years. Since it only took six years to cause how many years should it take to fix?

Well I think global warming is here. So why waste money saving New Orleans? It is going to be under water in the next twenty years!

Nancy Polesi's attack on global warming can not center on the HollyWood Eliete Mr.. Gore's attack on energy useage when his own stat is rampant with urban building and they in Tennessee have destroyed Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The attack starts with China, India, and the Middle East.,

It was snowing today in my hometown of Calgary for Victoria Day - what is supposed to be the first long weekend and the kickoff to summer. It also snowed in recent days in central Saskatchewan, central Manitoba, northern Ontario, and the Atlantic provinces.

They also have the heaviest snow in decades on the ground in South Africa.

Yup. Sounds like global warming to me.

Especially since it is the safest, most efficient, cheapest, and cleanest technology available? No one has ever died from a Nuclear Power Plant.......hundreds are killed each year mining for polluting coal mines.

In a late 2006 UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report entitled "Livestock's Long Shadow" it indicated that the livestock industry generates approximately 18% of the world's greenhouse gasses. According to the FAO report, the livestock industry generated 1.4 percent of the world's gross domestic product and provided food and income for nearly one billion of the world's poorest people in 2005. For every 100 metric tons of protien livestock provides, they consume 133 metric tons. Scientists now know that those 19 million metric tons of protien that are lost during consumption ferment in the stomach and later are released as the greenhouse gas methane.

So... I guess we need to drastically reduce the cow population in the world to "save the planet"... sorry PETA.. gotta kill em'... saving the planet you know. Oh, and whats a billion of the poorest people really worth anyhow? I say kill the industry... to do our part of course. What do you think?
