You can debate whether or not "the rapture" will occur and when. Any and every account I've ever heard of what the rapture will look like has always included winged beings with trumpets and "god" sitting on some kind of throne. None of which resembles global climate change in the least bit.

If you are the type of person who prefers to believe in the rapture and the associated mythologies, I would be inclined to recommend you to relocate to low lying costal areas. If it really is "the rapture" when global warming "comes to get us" in the form of ocean levels rising then I would conclude that Jesus would go to the coasts first as they flood. You'll be first in line to get to heaven!

well if anyone has noticed. global warming is already taking effect. We have longer and hotter summer, and shorter and hotter winters. We are actually seeing snowless christmases (for those who celebrate). the more we burn and waste natural resources, the more we destroy the ozone, and the ultrviolet rays we are exposed to. A good solution would be to have more trees, which emits more oxygen and replenishes the ozone. This probably would never happen because it take cooperation. So prepare yourself, we might not see the demise of the planet but it will happen more sooner than wwe think. As we speak the planet is becoming more and more unstable. we cant compare global warming to religion because they have nothing in common. For one, everyone knows the truth about whats going to happen with global warming, but many predictions on a religious bias is speculation.

Well, since you mentioned the Christian church (not certain if you mean a specific type of church or the religion itself), no, global warming will be more like hell. The planet is warming up now; it's not a case of when it finally comes to get us; it is here, but people like to pretend that it isn't.
Not only will the planet warm up more and more, lakes and streams will start drying up at an increasing rate (older people can remember a lot of streams that used to provide fishing holes and swimming holes that now only have run-off after a heavy rain or run-off from snow melt), plant and animal life will disappear at an increasing rate, and humans will start dying at an increasing rate due to lack of water, food and being overheated.
Think of that for awhile.

The rapture will supposedly come all at once. Global Warming will take slightly longer and be a little more uncomfortable to deal with, or so the theory goes...

Rapture??? Not exactly the word I would use, but to each their own...

Global warming isn't "coming to get" us...it is simply a result of the changes made by a species, and then becomes the ultimate example of how the choices made by one effect the Whole...fact of life here, and little else.

If nothing is done to stop it or a least slow it down....YES.
Global warming is just that the whole eath's tempature rises a small amout every year. If the earth's whole tempature rises two to three degrees in the next few years, global tides could raise by three feet. multiply that by fifty years and see where we stand.

No, it will be a tornado in the midwest, a hurricane on the coast and flooding everywhere else.
Don't want to scare you but we got a guy down the street named Noah and he is building an ark.
Big enough for a bunch of animals.

Global warming is not stalking you or anyone else. It is not going to "come and get us." It is just going to happen, but it will not be a disaster, just an inconvenience.

Uh, no. It's more likely to involve drought, crop failure and the occasional loss of a coastline. Not much fun for anyone and possibly deadly for folks who already have a hard time getting enough to eat.
