it is not about saving the planet - Earth will continue regardless of what we do, it will just hange and adapt..
but living a happier, healthier lifestyle in a more just sustainable supportive community seems like a good thing to try & acheive, rather than simply consuming what the global corps sell us - and then you die. What would you like to see on your tombstone?
The government is not about empowering people if they don't demand it.

There is an old story of a Saint & Scorpion. Once a saint noticed the scorpian was drowning in the water - he tried to save it - but the scorpion would sting his hand - a gentleman was seeing the play - after the saint tried to save the scorpion 5-6 times - the gentleman approached the saint and asked "why are you trying to save the scorpion while it is stinging you and giving you pain - let it die?" The saint laughed and said "just because scorpion is causing me pain doesnt mean I will refrain myself from my sacred duty to help others in need!!"
The moral of the story is that no matter what happens around your world, you may see people killing each other, saying hatred things about each other, people destroying environment - you shall perform your duty - to save the environment as much as you can, just as you will help your family members.
You can't save the environment unless you make a bond with it just like you make the bond of love with your family - And this religion is called "Love" !!!!!!!!!!!

then what is one's purpose in this world if he or she does not want to do anything to help the people or the things around him. of course, there are people who are too insensitive or too selfish that they only care about themselves that they do not care for the welfare of other or of the planet. but at the end of the day, when you ask yourself what is your purpose in this world, you would realize that your purpose in this world is to do some good to others and possibly touch their lives even in the simplest way. So that when you do pass away and look back in your life in this world, you could say that you did do something good back then. You did not waste your life and became selfish and useless in this world, but you were able to do some good to other people and touched their lives one way or another and that is what has been your contribution to this world. it may not be a perfect world, but everyday we always have the chance to make it a better world.

This sort of self devastation will continue too, as long as our troops remain in foreign countries, and the water is un-safe to drink, and fuel remains at such horrible high prices, and children go to bed hungry in our country, and our college bound students cannot read or write after graduating high school ( if they get that far), and the cost of living keeps going up and up, while wages do not,,,,,,,, Let's protect our borders..... educate our children, bring prayer back into the school systems everywhere, lets get re-aquainted with each other, and shake our neighbors hand,,,,,,and most of all let's stay strong and focused,,,and love each other, and give to one another. If we do that, God will look down on us and "SMILE" !! Less hate, More Love, and Caring of each other. Read your Bible, it tells ya in there about all this stuff that is going to happen, and a lot of it already is.
Bring back the Bible, and Prayer..... Because God is watching..... and I'd much rather be out here just plugging along in my world ... pleasing Him, rather than being out here getting it up the A-- -- by the politicians trying to govern my every move.

You know what... you obviousey don't care that your living, that your family and friends are here with you. trees give u oxygen to breath, there's too much polution in the air, which makes it hard for animals and people to servive! you don't care about the magnificent world we live in do you? it's more beautiful than you think. just take some time and enjoy the Earth while you can. because if people dont try to help, than there won't be one. And if the Government's not helping than thats fine, they don't care either

You are talking about the people who enhabit the world, they may not be worth saving, but the actual, physical world is. It has pure beauty, gives life, asks for nothing in return. It is the people that foul it up.

People are the government, you are people. This world can be fixed one person at a time. With faith all things are possible. When you add education to faith anything is possible. It is your choice. Do you choose to be lazy or do you choose to help?

I guess we are motivated by all wanting to be happy and all wanting whats best for our children. If we dont try to make the world a better place then it will all go downhill even faster.

Everyone is so concerned right now because it is fashionable.
The earth is worth saving, if not for yourself, then for someone you love.

There are those who view the cup and half empty...and those who view it as half full!
I'd rather TRY to make this a better place than to allow others to impede upon my right to live in a better place!
My country was founded upon the ideologies of Christianity....my faith tells me that despite the odds I should stand up for what is right!
The alternative is to sit back and be trampled upon!
Best wishes.
