Bore....I mean Gore was in office for I don't know how many years as a Tennessee senator ( which by the way Tennessee went to Bush ) and then as 8 years as v.p. Did he get this warming crap straightened out?
As for New Orleans, I was taught the foolish man built his house on the sand.
Personally, I want some record heat this summer, just to laugh at all of the wimps wine. BTW I work outside. No a-c for me. After all a-c uses A LOT OF electricity. Electricity pollutes. Pollution cases warming. (So they say.)

We should get excited, because warm weather is sooo much nicer than cold weather! If you look into it a little bit you'll find that the Earth has been in a warming trend for as far back as people officially started taking record. (ie. way before the industrial revolution and cars). The rising temperatures don't make a straight line, but they've been in a consistent upward trend. And by rising you know we're talking about a couple of degrees Farenheit over a hundred years right? Ironically in the 60's temperatures took a temporary dip and 'scientists' started warning about the impending ice age.
Since we don't have a long enough record to chart a full warming cycle no one can tell you how long until the problem is 'fixed'; but based on anecdotal historical references let's say each cycle is a couple hundred years give or take. So in about 50 years we'll peak and start cooling back down. Just enough time for our government to seriously screw up our economy trying to battle global warming, and then Al Gore's spawn can start praising the greatest achievement of their internet inventing father yet - finally conquering the evil global warming legacy left by Heir Bush. Then a couple hundred years after that when the cooling trend starts making people uncomfortably cold his great great great great etc. grandson can make a movie about how the political right has thrown the world into the next ice age.
Now about those ocean's rising, if you buy into that I've got some incredible soon-to-be beach front property in New Mexico to sell you...

Your thoughts about New Orleans encapsulate the problem; i.e. what should we really do? This is the first time for this to happen, no one really knows what to do, but many very smart people are creating scenarios about the future.
Politicians, generally, are followers. They presume to represent their constituents. So, until those constituents (you and me and the rest of us) start to say DO SOMETHING they will do nothing.
The best part of the whole Gore vs Conservatives public debate is that you will start to ask questions. The worst part about it is that often the politicians (who do not really study the science) tell you and I what 'others' think - i.e. what we should think. And it is usually self serving (for the politician) and skewed to some political direction.
So the best you and we can do is study this stuff ourselves. Do not trust anyone on the TV. Find your own answers by serious research.

Gore has been doing talks about global warming since 1977. New Orleans is currently defended by levees and would currently be under water if not for them. In the future, higher, stronger levees will be needed.
Your question is a clear example of lack of research and of ignorance.

Well, It will soon be very dangerous if Global warming comes soon. It will take a while to fix the problem because most of Earth would need to purchase Envior. friendly tools, and workers would need to cut down on Gases from power plants and Oil.
As for New Orleans, many people are living there, so it is best if we try to save people now.

Global warming IS here, but that's why we need to stop it. I don't think we should get "excited" about it, concerned is more like it. In terms of New Orleans, people there lost their tangible and actual lives there, so you're a horrible person for even joking about ignoring people who need help.

You have a good point! But I think if you want to get all excited about it..go for it! Noone else is going to help you in your quest to world domination but...w/e you think. But me...I dont really think we should get that excited about it. Most of us will be dead by then anyway! Its not that I dont care, its just that I don't want to spend my life on trying to solve a problem that is to bad to solve! Good Luck!

Do your research. The scientists believed global warming has been going on since at least the 50's.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could dismiss global warming as political claptrap.
