Hi all...

I seem to remember a few years ago that there was a documentary video about the areas covered by the lovely BBC R4 Shipping Forecast.

Does any one have any further info on this as despite my best attempts on Google, I cannot find out even what it was called, never mind how to get hold of a copy !!

This is for the old-timers (at least in your mid 30s).

Did any of you live in the Bay Area during the early 80s and remember a radio DJ on the station KFRC who called himself "Dr Don"??

He was well-known for making up funny names for surrounding cities...such as San Panty Hose, Bezerkley and so on.

I was thinking about his goofy shows from back then and I'm curious if anyone else on here knows who I'm talking about.

At least the trivia ones - like, name such-and-such artist's first album, biggest hit single, etc.

At one point, this was dependent upon your actual knowledge.
Now *anyone* can look it up on the internet in seconds - so the 'contest' is who can get to their keyboard fast enough??

Anyone in the broadcast industry here know the answer?

I live in Philadelphia PA. I'm trying to find out the name of the on-air disc jockey that would worked in the AM on station WDAS, 105.3 on the FM band 10 years ago. It's Steve Harvey now, prior to that it was Tom Joyner. I want the person who would have been before Tom Joyner. Thank you.

I'm on XM online free trial and dont see where the sports would be. 2. Is IRL on XM? I know I saw an Indy Racing Channel somewhere, just dont remember if it was Sirius or XM.

C'mon now! I think the radio industry is trying to capitalize on the popular HDTV market by offering a gimmick of their own called "HD Radio" (rolls eyes). Has anyone ever used this so called product? Whatever it is, it can't be that big a difference from regular radio as compared to HDTV ro standard tv.
