Radio 3 is for people seriously interested in classical music who wish to here an entire composition played by a good orchestra. The station features Jazz as well as classical music, and some drama too. Classic FM mainly plays short
excerpts of popular pieces and is merely catering for a different audience to BBC 3. To be seriously interested in classical music does not mean you are a snob.

It's good . Sometimes there are too many obscure composers given air time., but how else would they become known if one cannot afford to go to symphony concerts?
It isn't just for snobs.

This week is Mozart week and who doesn't know at least one Mozart 'tune'? (Elvira Madigan piano music).
Saturday tea time jazz record requests. Some obscure - and interesting stuff.

Read the listings and pick your programme. Dip in.
Tonight, 11.15pm the Penguin Caff orchestra. Aren't you curious? I am.

Classic fm ok in the evening when a whole work can be played, but otherwise bitty and repetative. Good background for things I should be doing NOW.
