There was a huge reaction two years ago when CBS fired all the DJs with no warning and put the "Jack" format on the air. Now (Friday 7/13) they've caved in to all the complaints and two-years later put back the oldies, but with some changes.

There's this new radio station that's opening in the city called Rhythm 99.9 FM and we're in need of suggestions for catchy liners. Something like:

"Rhythm 99.9 - We may not be the best, but we are better."
"We put the rage in outrageous."
"Rhythm of the city.."

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to just post.

This is not really a political question but a media and marketing standpoint that I want to know from. I mean I hear that liberals had to get money together to keep this guy Ed Schultz on the air. That Air America has always been in financial trouble and if it wasnt for George Soros they would be gone already. Why is it that the only liberal talk radio that succeeds is NPR supported by the government. Is it programming or host or some other thing. I ask this from a radio marketing standpoint not from political.

I've been a clone for about 6 years now, and I get the show, I like it, and I have been listening long enough to get most of the jokes and references to the old shows. However, Jim NEVER fully explains what or who he is immitating when he does that voice and says things like "It's your show, take it over!!" and "show me your lightning bolt!!" If you are a clone, you have heard this. Jim says that it is a "shout out to the old school clones in SoCal." At least once, I would like to hear who or what he is immitating. He also never explains why he pronounes Duke's basketball coach's last name like
<> when everybody else in the world says it like <> Are there any old school jungle legends or clones out there that can explain these?

Sincerely,
Bill in Syracuse

Actually I am "Rick in Massillon, OH"

Does that have any significance? Its almost indistinguishable when they speak out the last sentences like giving their address or phone number etc.

I've listened to the bob and tom morning show for years, and I think they are great. Maybe not as good as before the whole janet jackson super bowl incedent causing the fcc to crack down, but still great. What are your favorite songs and skits of theirs, and of their guest, and whose your favorite guest. Looking forward to your answers, take care.

Today (Thursday, July 12th) is the official day that WCBS-FM, which was a heritage oldies station for 23 years before it flipped to "Jack", went back to the oldies format.

For those in NYC, how do you feel about the change? Is it what you've expected? Better? Worse?

So I've got Sirius satellite radio in my car. It came with 3 free months. It's been beyond 3 months know, but the service still works. How does Sirius tell my radio to activate and terminate the service?

Does my radio send a signal to Sirius? If not, what if the radio isn't powered up when the satellite sends those signals, especially the terminate signal?

I love the Herd. I don't always agree with what he says, but Colin Cowherd is hilarious. Whenever I get to listen to him I always end up cracking up at least once.
