OK New Yorkers, what do you think of WCBS flipping back to oldies?

There was a huge reaction two years ago when CBS fired all the DJs with no warning and put the "Jack" format on the air. Now (Friday 7/13) they've caved in to all the complaints and two-years later put back the oldies, but with some changes.

At first i was surprised that WCBS changed to jack but i happen to like it. The oldies format is back but theyb are not playing any 50's music for now. Only 60's 70's &80's. What happen to the 90's? I love oldies, NYC had no official oldies station. The suits at Viacom should have left it alone. They got Jacked-lol

I think that it is wonderful. However, until you include the music of the 50's and 60's, you don't really have the true "oldies" and without the true oldies, you can't really watch the "submarine races".

I liked Jack. Once 102.7 (WNEW) went down and changed hands over and over again there was not a good chanel to listen to both the old music and the new with a great mix. Then came alont Jack and it was great... a bit of this... a touch of that... and now we are left with crap to listen to on the radio. Your talking to one of millions of satelite subscribers right now, and this is one of the reasons.

I'm glad they are back but I still rather have them play music of
the 50's and 60's like they used to..

i think it's really lame. i mean i know it takes a lot to run a station but them switching every 2 years is pissing me off.

ps. i've lived in nyc off and on for 6 years so i know what your talking about :)

I THINK ITS COOL THAT THEY WENT BACK, PLUS THERE CHANGES NOW COMPETE WITH Q104.3 BY ADDING CLASSIC ROCK, NOW ALL WE NEED IS COUSIN BRUCIE AND WE WILL BE FINE
