There's a few radio stations who I want archived broadcasts from 5 or 6 years ago. Do they archive broadcasts, and if so, would I be able to request a CD in mp3 format for a nominal fee?

Because they are on so many hours per day, most radio stations do not keep archives of past broadcasts. It would amount to way too much tape.

I work at a radio station and we have an archiving system, but it only saves the audio for about a week... so if it's something worth keeping we pull it off the archive before that week time. So there are a few "classic broadcasts" we have on hand... Most broadcasts aren't worth saving, but we save things like high school sports championship games for local teams, very noteworthy guests, etc. The problem is It was a pain in my behind and a disruption to my schedule when a VIP wanted a 10 minute cut from a recent broadcast, so even if they did have what you're looking for archived, you're not likely to convince anyone to help you.
