I keep hearing a song on BBC Radio 1 fairly often and I'm desperate to knwo who it's by and what it's called - it's sung by a woman, and all the lyrics I can catch are something about 'my hometown'... sounds very sad and emotional. Please help!

I have an am/fm radio casette walkman. I was wondering how far can am radio signals be receivable? Like how many miles? For example, the Radio Disney station i listen to is the am SF/Oakland staion because i'm from the bay area. If i were to go to monterey, can i still recieve the signal?
