There are two bands which appear to be heavily influenced by one of my lesser-discussed favorites of all time, The Jesus & Mary Chain. I can’t decide which one I like best. The first group is The Raveonettes, who actually named one of their albums Chain Gang of Love. If that doesn’t scream of love for the “Chain”, I don’t know what else would. The second band is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

it could be because of a tragedy in your life, or just remembering good times that you can't go back to, or even a lost love.............

Richard's side project sure has got my attention.. got a couple questions if anyone knows the answers.

1) Where did he learn to speak such perfect english?
2) Heard a rumor that he lives in New York City (hence the song), is that true?

I'm altering an idea I saw elsewhere on the internet. Using the template below as the soundtrack to the movie of your life, with each entry being a scene, choose ONE musical artist to score that soundtrack, and fill in the blanks with songs from their catalog appropriate to each scene.

Hopefully, this will be as fun and interesting as I imagine.

Opening credits -
Waking up -
Average day -
First date -
Falling in love -
Love scene -
Fight scene -
Breaking up -
Getting back together -
Secret love -
Life's okay -
Mental breakdown -
Driving -
Learning a lesson -
Deep thought -
Flashback -
Partying -
Happy dance -
Regreting -
Long night alone -
Death scene -
Closing credits -

I asked this once recently, but I thought it might be fun to do so again.

This song makes me smile. And my smile gets wider and wider as it plays. Am I crazy?

Which of her albums would you recommend to a new listener. I know she has quite a few, and I'm not really sure what's a good starting point, so any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

What are some good remakes of oldies (50's, 60's, 70's) songs? There's "You really got me" remade by Vanhalen and a few others I know. But there must be more. (No disco though)Let me know , thanks.

It makes all forms of rock look bad... should indie rock have its own category called "the one music that will make you lose all aphrodisiac-like ideas" or is that too hard for indie rock fans to say?

I need some new stuff to listen to, so any suggestions? I'm open to anything, but lean more to alternative/rock sounds.

Stuff I like include:
They Might Be Giants, Dresden Dolls, Lily Allen, Moxy Fruvous, The Rocket Summer, Starkicker, Le Tigre, Dragonette, Cansei de Ser Sexy, Nirvana, The Academy Is..., Lady Sovereign, Daft Punk, Fountains of Wayne, Bowling For Soup, Barenaked Ladies, Weezer...

Yeah (not exactly great?) so... here's your chance to introduce another person onto "good music".
