I've been listening to System of a Down all week, and find it odd that a hard rock listener like me actually liked the sound of Goldfinger and The Aquabats and David Bowie. I'm thinking about buying them, but I never thought I would like that stuff. Maybe I can like other genres as well.
Do you listen to lotsa genres too?

what has rap music come to now a days? I remember when rap used to be good and the songs weren't always about hoes, money and drugs. The music that they produce for rappers is disgraceful! I was a big rap/hip-hop/r&b lover until this crap started being produced, now all i listen to is rock ( not popular bands) and reggae. And for the black community to sit around and dance to this music and say that it is good is disgraceful. I mean look at it this way, the rap/hip-hop video's demean women in all ways possible. They make it okay to use derogatory words to each other. They make it ok to speak like they aren't educated. What are they teaching the population of america? to speak and be idiots! now i know i'm being way past harsh, and i'm mostly only targeting rap. I know that some rock music is fake and horrible. But rap is so much worse. After my rant, how can you think that songs like crank that, chicken noodle soup are good, when they only contain about three lines of actual lyrics?

I just listened to the Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bochelli version which was good enough to make you cry. I further found out about the Paul Potts version, which is even as much amazing! Are there any other versions you think are amazing. And also, can you give me some song like that? It's amazing!

To most, that might seem like a silly question...of course you know who the Beatles are. To some, though, it's completely relevant.

Today, my 17 year old cousin asked me a question that amazed me..."Who are the Beatles?"

I don't expect everyone to know every song, album or even the names of all the Beatles...but, I figured people in general had at least heard of them. I mean, they are EVERYWHERE...their music is on the TV all the time, movies and on almost anything that has to do with rock n' roll.

This is the same girl, though, that asked me if Eric Clapton is an evil man...so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. She had got a shirt in Puerto Rico that had his name on it. I asked her why she got the shirt if she didn't even know who he is and she said it's because she liked the colors...lol, geesh.

Does this amaze anybody else? Or, am I just expecting too much out of my peers (after all, I'm only a year older than her)?

I don't get it when people say "you don't look like the type to enjoy rock/rap etc"
it puzzles me (and annoys me -__-) when people say that because I want to listen to everything and i'm seriously into everything. I swear i will listen to polka music if you want me to ;O) anyways i want to listen w/o getting bugged about "i had no idea!"
music's for everyone and i say if you are into the song then go ahead and listen to it :)

And there are some female backing singers?

Sorry its not very much detail. It sounds like it may have been Barry White, but maybe not?

10 points to the person who tells me the correct song.

Thanks.

I am from Canada and the programs people have shown me here do not have as many results for dance electronica hits from the UK. As a DJ I want to bring some of these huge hits across the sea and play them in the local sets I play

what do you think is the best classic rock song of all time? By classic rock, I mean basically Chuck Berry to, I guess, 90's music.

I'm getting married in February and my fianceé and I have chosen Van Morrison's "Days Like This" as our first dance song. We're generally pretty country, but I don't want to two-step to this song. How should we dance? One of those general "sway" type numbers that I see older people doing? Help!

So, with Diddy making so-so celebs out of so-so singers, do you think he'll make a successful R&B group out of the Making the Band 4 guys?

If it failed w/a girl group.....(remember Danity Kane?) Can he make fire with his new project?
