Literally hundred of singers have sung one setting or another of the 'Ave Maria' As has been pointed out on this board on many occasions there is not one setting but, again, probably hundreds. 'Ave Maria' is an old hymn of the Roman Catholic Church in praise of the Virgin Mary and has been set to music since the early middle ages by numerous composers.

No I don't think it would, Mary, was the mother of Jesus, and Jesus, loved his mother, so how can it be wrong to sing Ave Maria.

Hundreds of people have sung it and there are numerous versions by different composers which sound quite different. The main versions are by : Schubert, Gounod/Bach and Caccini.

Almost everybody and many do it very well. Amazing Grace may be the only hymn done by more singers.

many people have sung it, after all it is a classic. some of the singers are Luciano pavarotti, andrea bocelli, celine dion, even elvis and barbra did a version of it.
