I don't get it when people say "you don't look like the type to enjoy rock/rap etc"
it puzzles me (and annoys me -__-) when people say that because I want to listen to everything and i'm seriously into everything. I swear i will listen to polka music if you want me to ;O) anyways i want to listen w/o getting bugged about "i had no idea!"
music's for everyone and i say if you are into the song then go ahead and listen to it :)

Your question is probably the best i've seen on this site :) That has happened to me too. I listen to every type of music, because well, i simply enjoy it. The only type i really don't like however, is death metal.
And i agree with the Lost dude: sean kingston's song beautiful girls really does suck. i skip it everytime when i listen to my Now 26 cd.

I'm a tall white girl with brown hair and blue eyes. I listen to music accross the board. Rap to pop to country to classical to reggae to grunge to big band. Why not if I enjoy it, right? But, my point about my appearance is, yes, sometimes people are very suprised to what genres of music I listen to. I find getting to know someone's personality is a much more accurate way to guess the likes and dislikes of a person's musical taste.

I enjoy hard rock, like Metallica, etc. Then other bands like Hinder, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus...
And I like Josh Groban, classical music and people stare at me like I'm a weirdo or something...
It's great to listen to all types of music. But...did you listen to Sean Kingston's new song "Beautiful Girls"? Omg that's plain dumb and sh*t music! And he can't sing for sh*t!

People are surprised I listen to anything that makes noise. I'm always quiet, they wouldn't expect me listening to something that I'd like to put on loud.
I don't really care about assumptions, though. You just know that they aren't always right.

i love rock(metal, punk, whatever). everyone always goes "you're SO not the type. i'd have thought you were into brittney spears and that" (gag)
since when do you have to be a "type" to listen to a genre of music?!

yeah..that happens to me people are very surprised when I say I listen to justin timberlake, when I also love metallica,they say its a bad mix, and I look like i only listen to rock and metal
