what do you think is the best classic rock song of all time? By classic rock, I mean basically Chuck Berry to, I guess, 90's music.

There can be no such thing as 'one' best song.
But some of my choices would be :~

The Chain ~ Fleetwood Mac
While My Guitar Gently Weeps ~ The Beatles
Stairway to Heaven ~ Led Zeppelin
Dragonfly ~ Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
The Minstrel in the Gallery ~ Jethro Tull
Sultans of Swing ~ Dire Straits
The Great Gig in the Sky ~ Pink Floyd
Freebird ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd
All Right Now ~ Free

Also, 'Classic Rock' is any band / artist who originated in the 1960's & 1970's. As such, if a band didn't start until after 1980, they aren't Classic Rock.

"He's Waitin'" - The Sonics

It's about Satan and is probably the hardest rocking song of it's time (1966), or at least it is as far as I've heard. The Sonics are THE rock 'n' roll band.

Or, since very few people know of the Sonics, I'll say "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop, it expresses the feeling it tries to better than any song I've ever heard, while still being a really great rock song. And it's probably the best song featring the cowbell prominently.

And if you haven't heard that one, download it or buy the CD or steal the CD if you have to, but if you can't do that, then I'll say "Paint It, Black" by the Rolling Stones, because I don't think it's possible to live long enough to know how to use a computer withuot accidentally hearing that song at least once, and it really is great.
