Just wondering what your favorite song from the 90's was... I remember listening to songs from when I was like 4 and I'm starting to realize that music from than was so much better than music from now... Like Sugar Ray, they rock :)

Had to reinstal my windows, now music that I download from a bit torent site only plays through that websites media player even though I set my own media player to be the "Default" music player for all my music"?!?!?!

I'm into As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black, Himsa, Lamb Of God, Between The Buried And Me, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Acacia Strain, The Black Dahlia Murder, Dethklok.

The older stuff (which I'm not looking for, it's just a guideline) I listen to includes Deadguy/Kiss It Goodbye, Human Remains, Slayer, Obituary, Eyehategod, Snapcase, Hatebreed.

I DO NOT like metal with "singy" parts. i.e. All That Remains, Devil Wears Prada. It just takes me right out of the music.

Please, no Disturbed, Mudvayne, Slipknot, A7X or any other "radio" metal.

Which guitarist do you feel plays the most emotional solos?

Mine is David Gilmour. It feels like I can feel his emotions when I listen to Floyd and his solo work (which is also amazing). Everytime I hear him play, I just feel a little tingle down my spine.

This version of Black Christmas is from a local band out of Dayton, Ohio (I think) and was done in the 1980s (again, I think).

So, unfortunately, with the way the music business is nowadays, some of the best bands never make it big, while other no-talent bands get fame & fortune heaped on them. Because of this, many very talented bands end up languishing around for years before finally breaking up because they never make it big.

With that being said, who are some of the best bands that, in your opinion, most people have never heard of, but should give a listen to? What makes the band so good, and who do they sound like? If they are no longer together, do you know why they broke up?

This can also be for a singer; it doesn't have to be a band. I'm not a big fan of commercial music, and I'm looking for new bands to get into.
