No...lol. Today I was listening to my ipod in the car and singing along when the battery died and the ipod turned off. I was so embarrassed because I sounded sooo horrible!! I knew I couldn't sing but this really made that fact obvious to me.

well, yes. I get paid for it, and have been for 25 years now.
I never had the absolute courage to go be a soloist, (although most of my co-workers think I have the voice for it)
so I sing in the opera chorus. We're on every time there's a show ( there are maybe 12 operas written without chorus) so I get in a lot of singing. Plus, there are always the little roles, like the maid, or the servant who comes in to announce "Dinner is served". In our opera house, we choristers get those juicy parts.
Singing,, and singing well don't always mean one has to go for the solo spots. Only the very few get there. Some of them get there by connections and money, rather than talent.
How many guys play football, and how many are on the first string in an NFL team? About the same limited number of singers get to the top ( I'm talking classical, god knows how some pop singers ever get there).

I can stay on pitch with high or low notes, which some people (who only sing in the car) might think makes a good singer. In reality, no matter how much I work on my tone, I still sound breathy and a little nasaly. I'm great when it comes to choral singing because I blend well. I'm just not cut out for going solo.

Am I! At Church, I am occasionally called in for tenor or bass duty in joint Choir, depending on which position is shorter-handed; I am also a Praise singer-multi-instrumentalist with an instinct for both backing vocals and instrumental switch-hitting. I happen to be most efficient from A3 to D5, qualifying me as a Countertenor; I could easily handle the Alto part, should the joint Choir be short on actual alti (very rarely the case). I can actually sight-read individual vocal parts when necessary.

I am going to be honest I am a horrible singer, but that is okay. I am not singing to win a contest or earn a living. When I hear a song I like I will sing along with it because I like it

I think I sound pretty good in my head :p. People have told me that I sing well. Even when my voice was untrained it still sounded pretty and sweet. Good? I don't know because it depends a lot on personal tastes. But I'm training to be 'excellent' at least when singing alone without competition. Right now my voice suits a choir more than it does solo because I've been singing choir-style for years. Plenty of stuff to unlearn in order to progress with solo singing.

I don't really think that I am...I think I'm OKAY. I can carry a tune in a bucket and I've done a lot of choirs but I don't really enjoy my voice. However, everyone else seems to like it so I guess that means yes? haha
