Which guitarist do you feel plays the most emotional solos?

Mine is David Gilmour. It feels like I can feel his emotions when I listen to Floyd and his solo work (which is also amazing). Everytime I hear him play, I just feel a little tingle down my spine.

Yours?

Don't you mean EMO solos? Haa Ha Ha!
For me I would have to say the following would be my top 10 guitarists that convey the most emotion during a solo:

Peter Green
Gary Moore
Jimi Hendrix
John McLaughlin
Frank Zappa
Lenny Breau
Carlos Santana
Adrian Belew
Jeff Beck
Randy Bachman

But if you put a gun to my head and I had to chose two of them, I'd probably say Peter Green and Gary Moore.
If the gun was actually loaded, I'd more than likely say Peter Green.

I would have to agree and say Gilmour. Even my father when he was alive liked Dave and he was not that much into the music I listened to.
Several people have also mentioned Stevie Ray. He would be second on my list.
Smiley has named several that fit the mold also.
Will has brought up a name that I personally don't recall seeing on here before but man he plays a great guitar...Frank Marino. His solo's are always fantastic.

I Definitely have to agree.. there is so much emotion when you listen to David Gilmour's guitar playing.. whooo!!

But another guitarist that i personally hold close to me when it comes to emotion/and amazing soloing would be "Dimebag Darrel" of Pantera-Damage Plan-(R.I.P.) You could definitely feel the mood of the song through his guitar playing- whether it be a happy-Sad-angry-or humorous song mood.. and he had mind blowing solo work.. could shred like no other..

Any guitarist who has at least a touch of blues in him. You got to have soul, passion to play the blues. My favorite is Eric Clapton. As for actual blues guitarists, Robert Johnson is pretty soulful with his guitar work and singing. Same with B.B. King.

Gilmour is a good choice. He gets a lot from so little. He can get more feeling from one note than Eddie Van Halen can from 200.
