This song is a little old-skool trip-hop, give it a vibe:

Title: Autobiography

Simmons come ta get ya
Chillin' like a reptile
Simmons come ta set ya
Poison in a vile

Simmons in ya livin' room
sittin on the cushions
Simmons in ya' livin space
on ya brain he's pushin

chorus:
(background female vocalists): Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve
Aw yeah, Simmons stompin' on the floor
Aw yeah, Simmons runnin' up the score
Aw yeah, Simmons robbin' from the poor

Simmons in the slamma
Doin' five to life
Simmons in the big house
diggin jailhouse strife

Simmons wearin jumpsuits
they call me Supa Thug
Simmons cuttin guards up
revoltin' for the drugs

Repeat chorus

Crescendo: Steeeeeeeeeeeeeve

Does anyone know of any songs along the themes of:
- promiscuity/lust for sex
- the lust for material goods
- metrosexuality
- arrogance
- anorexia
- self-sacrifice
- prostitute mother
- not wanting to open up

not one song that fits all these themes, lol! Just different song that may apply to one or more of these themes!

Thanx!!

I'm just wondering what the average age is on this section. So, if you don't mind, could you tell me your age? And also, who a few of your favourite rappers are. I want to know how much your age influences what type of hip hop you're into.

To get things started, I'm 28.

i like alternative/indie/punk/rock.
i also don't mind the odd the emo song, as long as it isn't too whiny.

For a band project I am doing, I need to listen to an album of wind ensemble music, and do a 2 page write-up on it. It must be an entire album from a CD. I thought classical music albums would be really easy to find online ... turns out either I was wrong, or I'm just really not that great at finding these things.

Wake as a Gun is a really neat song, and I really like it. The lyrics are kind of abstract and make sense at the same time. Am I just hearing the wrong lyrics or something?

A man wakes up, has animal
Hallucinates a fire
A man wakes up, has a ghost
Bloodless yet inspired

Man wakes up, has music
Liberates the calm
Man wakes up, has a child
And builds a bridge of charm

The silence you keep,
But I just want to sleep
Man wakes up, has a gun
Doesn't get the joke

Help me if you can. Lyric interpretations aren't a specialty of mine.

looking for any rap artist you can think of with a deep scruffy voice with an album out before 2003, but not so old skool - probably after 1997 also; i've got the obvious like dmx, ja rule, tupac/makaveli and busta rhymes covered... help me out with some more i've probably overlooked - it's actually to help me find a song (it's not shoot em up by nas) - but it has jingling bells in the intro and a deep voice that's been hollowed/echo effected going "uhhh" (sounds like busta rhymes in "dangerous") before it bursts straight into the lyrics and the entire song's vocals are of the same echoy/hollow tone - but not quite in the background... and of course the voice is deep and kindof scruffy - almost sounds yelling... not an intricate bass line, but it's deep and drawn out into whole notes and monotonous throughout the whole song

sorry that's all i got... it's been years since i've heard the song...

The family is riding in the van late at night and everyone is sound asleep except the driver. It is an instrumental. Mostly guitar as I remember. It's been a while since I saw the commercial, maybe since last year.

Classic rockers that after all these years haven't lost it yet and their new music is comparable to stuff they did 30 years ago? You can't expect them to come out with better music, but music that still compares to their older work.

I think Tom Petty's still got it. I loved Highway Companion.

Your examples?

I mean Carter 2 was hot... but not a classic

Do you think that this is Lil Wayne's last shot at putting out a solid classic album??

If The Carter 3 Turns Out To Be a Classic Can Wayne Put Himself In The Same Sentence As Jay-Z??
